Summary: We had a lovely time staying at the George and dragon. The Tarvin Christmas market was on , the day of our arrival and the road was due to close from lunchtime, the landlord was very accommodating and let us check in earlier than usual,before the road closed, which was really kind. The hotel was warm and welcoming and we had a meal in the afternoon which was amazing value, good portions and really tasty. The room was clean and comfortable and the stay was made even better by the friendly staff. Breakfast was very nice, a full English breakfast set us up for a day at Chester Christmas market. I would definitely stay again in the future.

Summary: Quiet cosy room above a pub serving great food. Always a warm welcome by the great staff. Stay here twice a year as it ticks all the tight boxes. Good car park, comfy room and great shower with reasonable Wi-Fi for the area.

Summary: Comfortable room for a few nights. Excellent shower and good bed. Good choice of meals served in the bar. Off road parking. Nice quiet area.

Summary: The room was clean and tidy & had everything we needed. It would have been helpful we’d been advised that there was an engagement party & live band playing that night as we were staying as we were running the Delamere Forest Marathon the next morning and hoping for an early night as we had an early start. As the rooms were directly above the music there was no chance of this! The music did stop just after 11pm so not too bad!

Summary: The room was small but comfortable, plenty of parking at the property 3 of the rooms at least overlook the car park which is good for security. Unfortunately the kitchen was not open on the day which was disappointing and was not communicated prior to the booking, local eateries were limited if you didn't want to drive. Also the breakfast did not start until 8.30am which was no good when I had to be out early in the morning. Again this was not communicated prior to the booking and no compensatory discount was offered. Overall value for money wasn't great due to the lack of meals, although the room was comfortable and the staff seemed friendly

Summary: The bedroom very spacious, but sparsely furnished- no bedside tables no chest of drawers or dressing table, requires redecorating. The food on Monday evening was fine and Wednesday the breakfast was good, but no food available on Tuesdays which we were not advised until Monday.

Summary: We received a warm welcome upon arrival from Kenny and his staff, We had a day a Chester races planned and were struggling to get a taxi so Kenny stepped in to save the day and kindly took us in his car. The rooms were clean, tidy and had tea and coffee making facilities and The En Suite bathroom was well equipped and a decent size with plenty of room in the shower.The bed was very comfortable and there was no noise outside so a good nights sleep is assured. The full english breakfast is highly recommended and the service was second to none. I would highly recommend The George to anyone visiting Chester. Thank You Kenny and your staff for an enjoyable stay.
