Positive: The garden is really a great place for sitting, dining and having a good time outside. There is space for 8 at the table. There is light in the evening and even a small waterfall. The area is calm and peaceful. Note that the garden is the garden of the main house and you may cross the owners for a nice chat or when they have their barbecue... The location is easy access from principal roads and 15-20 min drive to most locations of interest in the San Diego area. Trolley station is not too far away (5 min by taxi ). Uber is working well. Close to university city.

Negative: The kitchen is not fit for cooking. No oven, no dishwasher (no washing machine neither) , and very basic pans , pots and blunt cutlery. We had to fetch extra equipment from friends to be able to cook a real meal. The kitchen and the bed are in the same room, which is ok but limits really the space in the kitchen to one person active at a time. Equipment and tools are outdated and would benefit of an overhaul. The barbecue in the garden is not for the guests and exclusive to the landlords. In summary, if you buy your food from a take away it's a great location, if you want to do your own cooking or BBQ you'll likely be disappointed.

Negative: The water, supposedly filtered, tasted terrible. The fridge made weird noises. The bed was too soft for me.

Summary: Ok for me, can’t imagine four people sharing that space, especially the small bathroom.
