Positive: A very cute property, cleverly done up to provide modern facilities in a beautiful old courtyard building right in the heart of St Valery en Caux. It was immaculately clean. Lots of useful, thoughtful details made our stay comfortable - for example a dishcloth and tea towel as well as two dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and cleaning materials, which made it easy to cook an evening meal and tidy up afterwards. We appreciated the coffee pods in the morning. The decor is bright, clean and modern, with little touches of fun. The space had been cleverly maximised and furniture chosen both for comfort and scale - so it looked right, and didn’t make the cottage feel cramped. Overall it’s a well equipped little place for two people in a really lovely location.

Negative: Two tiny blemishes: I would have slept better on a firmer mattress (maybe that’s just me, though). Also, the fete de la mer taking place during our stay was rather noisy once the live band got going at about 9.30pm (here again that’s just me - some guests would have loved the free concert of loud folk-rock music and been out there dancing all night).

Summary: Characterful ground floor cottage in a great location.
