Positive: Remote setting but close to the town of Marmande. Spacious house and grounds and fantastic pool area for swimming and relaxing. Host offers dinner service and the sale of wines and drinks if required. Always someone available on site in case of any problems, which we had none. The house has excellent A/C system that was well received during the hot weather. The property is gated, so very secure.

Negative: The Wi-Fi signal in the Gite was weak, which was frustrating for my children in particular (first world problems). A much stronger signal can be achieved around the pool area however. The small kitchenette area was a little challenging when cooking for four but all in all it was everything you would need. Although we could not locate a kettle, which would have been handy.

Summary: A very relaxing stay and a good base to explore the region. Our host Anne was also very nice.

Positive: The host is wonderful in all ways, and it is clear that the family values keeping the property in good shape and welcoming to guests. The place was plenty large and comfortable for all of us.

Negative: I probably did not read the details about arriving, so when it looked like I might be arriving very late, the host said that there would be no one to let us in the gate. We managed. I also must not have read details that the air conditioning was not included in the cost since it was not summer season (it was June 23rd). We negotiated the extra charge without any problem. It was not a problem, but we were only offered one key and gate remote button, so it might have been complicated had more than one person needed to come and go.

Summary: Beautiful country setting and very friendly people!
