La Grange de Pyraine is a quiet house for a successful stay in Périgord with family or friends. It is located in a small quiet hamlet without vis-à-vis and without joint ownership. We are on hand to welcome you, explain everything you want to know and give you the best addresses. From the house, you can radiate in all directions to visit the magnificent region rich in history, enjoy its gastronomy, its architecture and its hilly landscapes. On your return, you will appreciate the ambient calm while enjoying the garden or the swimming pool.
Garden 2000 m2, swimming pool 5 x 10 m, summer dining veranda with integrated barbecue. On one level: large living room with fireplace, very equipped independent kitchen, separate dining room, laundry room, VC.
Upstairs, 1 bedroom with 2 beds, 1 bedroom with 3 beds, 1 bedroom with double bed. 2 bathrooms with VC, library. On one level: 1 double bedroom + bathroom. Private closed garage + 1 outdoor parking space.
Complete baby equipment (bed, bath, high chair, crockery). All household linen is provided, we accept pets and holiday vouchers. Internet access free wifi TV / DVD.
The tenants feel at home, and it is they who say so! Trinkets, books, board games, paintings and other decorative objects enliven the house and give it a special charm. In the very well-equipped open kitchen open to the dining room, everything is close at hand. Nothing is missing! In the living room, in front of the large fireplace, it's coffee or aperitif with the TV on or off.
You will have the choice between 3 places to eat: in the dining room, in the veranda equipped with its integrated barbecue, or on the terrace, these 3 places each having their table and chairs!

In the wooded environment, walks or bike rides through multiple paths to discover beautiful nature, wild animals, blackberries and mushrooms to pick up, flowers along the paths, happy birds! Summary: The house has been renovated to a high standard while retaining internal charm with beams, stonework etc. Pool is pretty large and garden provides plenty shade and space for games. The location is very hidden away, and while a car is essential to get even a croissant, local roads provide plenty of options for morning runs. Nearby we found excellent zipwires, canoeing, restaurants (Bergerac, Mussidan) and markets (esp Perigeux).

Summary: We loved this quaint rural house. Ideal for the five of us and our dog. The enclosed garden was perfect for our dog. The pool was clean and well maintained and being able to eat out on the terrace was just wonderful. We loved the character of the house. Very rural French and though elements were a bit dated satisfied our needs. Catherinne was a love host and left us to our own devices. We visited Bergerac and Perigeux. Had an exceptional lunch at L'Imperfait and wonderful dinner at Le Tour Des Vents. Be prepared to travel a little as the situation is remote but the benefits of delicious peace and quiet were worth it. We also went kayaking at Mussidan and we did some running. Just a great holiday for all the family. Gran at 85, 12 and 22 year olds and the dog all had the best time.

Summary: Catherine welcomed us with a tour of the house which was fully equipped which made it very easy just to get some food and then need nothing else for the duration of our stay! The house is well laid out with plenty of seating in both the lounge and dining areas. VERY well equipped kitchen! Outside has a large fully enclosed garden which our dog loved! Lots of room for games of badminton, football, boules etc. Pool area was perfect, shady spots as well as plenty of sun all day. BBQ can be held any day as it is housed in its own room with dining area which was unusual. We visited Bergerac a few times for evening meals which is within easy reach and Mussidan for the food shopping which is just 10 mins away by car. Perfect area for running (as long as you don't mind hills) as the roads are very quiet. We will definitely be returning, thank you Catherine for your hospitality.

Summary: If your aim is to get away from it all, then you'll struggle to do better than this. Great open layout inside the cottage, with a secluded patio and large, well maintained garden outside... perfect for spending the evening relaxing outside with a BBQ, drinking the local red and watching the bees and moths get into the lavender! Our one-year-old loved watching the lizards scuttling up the walls, too! Local amenities aren't much - a local boulangerie would have been the icing on the cake - but there is plenty just a short drive (15mins) away, and with Bergerac itself so close, La Grange really is a great base of operations for seeing one of the worlds great locales, the Dorgdogne. In short... recommended!

Summary: La Grange de Pyraine was a beautifully restored house using much of the ancient wood from the original barn. Lovely garden and good sized pool. Very comfortable for five adults and two children including a baby, for whom high chair and cot were provided. The house was very well provided with all necessities especially in the kitchen and good Wi Fi. The location is isolated, in lovely wooded countryside and about 2 miles from the village of Issac where there is an small epicerie and restaurant. Any other requirements need a 8 mile trip to the nearest supermarket. The only downside was the weather, a very bad week in France unfortunately. We also felt that the house should have been much better signposted. The instructions on line were incorrect should have been turn left at the crossroads, and also that the sign Pyraine might in some places say Piraine, same place but!! The owner was most hospitable and friendly and the property had been maintained to a high standard. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to other families but maybe they could amend the weather!!
