Positive: Could not recommend funky fish enough. The best location, staff and the food was amazing. The best seafood we’ve ever had. We stayed in the funky huts and they were perfect, enough breeze to keep cool.
Negative: Nothing.
Summary: Perfect location, food & staff

Positive: I simply want to say that the setting is idyllic. The little houses are perfect for two people, with an incredible setting.
Negative: I wouldn't say that we didn't like it, far from it, but the staff, and one person in particular whom I won't name, disappointed us. Their attitude and behaviour towards us was anything but respectful. Having to ask for our engagement photos every day, having to ask and ask again for activities without necessarily being informed is not normal. So the staff were very pleasant, except for this one person. I don't want to single anyone else out, that would be a shame. It just leaves a bad impression, especially when you are greeted in a rude and aggressive manner, all because we are not perfectly bilingual. It's not worthy of someone in a position of responsibility, and it's certainly not the way to treat customers.

Positive: This is a beautiful and cozy place right on the shore - from the bungalow to the water is literally 20 meters. Not bad food (although sometimes the portions were small and the breakfasts were quite modest). Everything is done very simply, but quite well-groomed.
Negative: The negative experience was when after arriving at Musket Cove (the final stop of the ferry) we had to wait over 1.5 hours for a boat from Funky Fish to pick us up (this is the only way to get there). My attempts to reach them by phone were futile — neither of their two numbers answered (the manager of Musket Cove also could not reach them after several attempts). The Funky Fish administration did not apologize for this, charging us the standard 16 USD per person for the transfer (only 3 km of the way!).
Summary: It's still not bad, except for some unpleasant moments.

Positive: This was an interesting place to stay - the accommodation was very very basic, akin to a school camp, but somehow the authenticity of the staff made up for this. It was very small but highly personal. Homestyle cooking, a sing-a-long after dinner and genuinely friendly staff. We met interesting guests from around the world and had a lot of fun. Certainly not your typical polished holiday resort - but fun.

Positive: Most of the staffs (Ben and John)were passionate and helpful and the food provided was good.
Negative: The front desk stressed us out a lot due to lack of clarity and detailed booking instructions. Would not recommend to inexperience people traveling to nearby. Limited Activities offered, kayak is not available and only one broken paddle for hire.

Positive: Just stayed for 10 days in a cloud break room up the hill with aircon which was much appreciated as it’s so hot. The bura on the beach don’t have aircon and are hot Food is included. I’m vegetarian and there was zero protein apart from the eggs at breakfast. If you have dietary requirements I’d suggest buying food to bring over with you to accomodate. We also took snacks It’s laid back and running on Fiji time. Things don’t work like they do at home but that is Fiji Lots of mozzies so take a lot of repellent We went to surf for 10 days. Take everything with you if that is what you’re planning. Take your own board as it’s very hard to get one there. Take your own wax. Take everything you need for surfing You are remote and stuck in the resort without accesss to anything to buy The staff aren’t surfers so they don’t know about the conditions. They don’t provide anything for you surf wise while you’re there apart from the boat going out It’s a budget option near the surf that’s easy to get to. Don’t expect high end. The staff were nice
Negative: Things took a long time. One day we were taken out to cloud break and the boat ran out of fuel. We had to wait 2 hours to have fuel brought to us No protein apart from eggs some days for breakfast so for a vegetarian the meals were limited although good just not enough to fuel the surfing It would be super helpful to have staff who are knowledgeable about surfing Would be a good idea how them to sell wax and other things for surfing
Summary: Budget choice near the surf
