Located on 5 wooded acres in Marquette County, yet close enough to the city of Marquette (4 miles away) to bike ride in for dinner. Our quiet retreat is perfect for couples. The apartment is located in the lower level or our home and was completed in 2017. It has a private entrance, parking area and separate patio with barbecue grill.
A comfortable King size bed is located in a carpeted bedroom, which has a beautiful view of a perennial garden and forest. The living room and full kitchen are tastefully decorated with original artwork. comfortable furnishings, and TV with DISH network. A birch tree theme bathroom has a tile floor and quartz vanity top.
Our location provides easy access to The Iron Ore Heritage Trail, a non-motorized county wide trail network, and the Noquemonon South Mountain Bike Trails. Miles of sand beach are just minutes away. Visitors can kayak, canoe, sail, and fish on nearby lakes and rivers. Lake Superior is only one mile away. Marquette Mountain ski area is about 4 miles away. Blueberry Ridge cross country ski area is about 4 miles away.

Summary: We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Wood Song September 26-30 and loved everything about it. It’s well-appointed and very comfortable, a peaceful haven just far enough away, but not inconveniently, from city life. The setting is beautiful: lovely, well-tended gardens backed by dense woods. The hosts are not intrusive but are available if needed. When I left items behind, Eric notified me immediately and made arrangements to get them returned to me. We’ve stayed at many VRBOs and Wood Song is definitely high on our favorites list.

Summary: My last stay, with my spouse that time, was in 2018. Since then I've not been back to Marquette. But in August, I had the good fortune to return, not only to Marquette, but to this lovely space. Five years later and still it is beautiful, quiet, close to so many experiences and always a perfect home away from home. I am hopeful it will not be another five years! Summary: Thank you Eric and Lynn for your hospitality and for sharing your beautiful home and garden with us. Your Wood Song apartment served as a perfect getaway for us and felt like a home away from home. It was cozy and comfortable and perfectly located. We were able to kayak everyday and explore Harlow Lake, the Au Train River and Lake Superior. Each provided some incredible views. The beautiful weather also allowed us to hike the Portal Trail along the ledges of Pictured Rocks National Shoreline. The views are always AMAZING!

Summary: The photos don't do justice to the beautiful garden just outside the door. This property is beautiful. The hosts are great gardeners. Well designed and tastefully decorated. Nice appliances.
