Frank's Place on Inverness Ridge is a charming Point Reyes rental home with panoramic bay views. With spacious living and sleeping areas, wifi and an outdoor hot tub, it's the perfect lodging for families on a Point Reyes adventure or couples seeking a secluded and romantic getaway.
The natural setting is spectacular, with lush surrounding forest giving way to open vistas and rough-and-tumble rhododendron gardens. Here on the ridge nights are dark and quiet, and mornings are beautiful whether drenched in clear light or sheathed in fog. Birds are abundant, including resident Pileated Woodpeckers and many others changing with the seasons. Ravens and hawks ride the winds out over the canyon. Scan the gardens or the meadow below and you may see deer, or even a fox or bobcat.
This classic Inverness style home was designed and built by local architect Jim Campe in 1986. The living room, bedrooms, decks and hot tub all face out over forested parkland to Tomales Bay and the hills beyond. In the main living area wood and tile floors and high, beamed ceilings create an expansive and elegant atmosphere, while clearstory windows capture the afternoon sun. Just down the hall, the carpeted master suite features a king-size bed and large private bathroom with two sinks, giant tub and walk-in shower.
Downstairs are two additional bedrooms with a shared second bathroom. A queen-size bed and TV in one of the bedrooms make it great for a second couple. The other is just right for kids, with two twin beds. A large inflatable mattress and porta-crib are also available if needed. Step out onto the downstairs porch to access the private hot tub.
An additional office room upstairs includes a sofa/daybed that can be made up for yet another sleeping option. WiFi from a cable Internet connection is available throughout, and there's a small computer in the office if you didn't bring your laptop. Cable TV is present upstairs and down, as well as a stereo system in the living room. CDs, games, puzzles, art and many books are here for your enjoyment.

Summary: This house is perfect for a relaxing vacation. Beautiful views from every window and deck. Lots of birds visited the feeder. Very quiet area. We had everything we needed in this accommodation.

Summary: Frank’s Place was such a wonderful stay! So incredibly beautiful and peaceful. Scott was a wonderful host and was very accommodating. The inn keeper was also very helpful and ensured that we had a wonderful stay. Frank’s Place had so many special touches, including for our pups. The bed was incredibly comfortable which is important for someone with back problems. And the hot tub was the perfect touch after long days of hiking. We would definitely stay again.

Summary: Been coming here for about 7 years for my birthday. Feel so at home here. Cooked most of our meals here. Everything is provided in terms of cookware, baking pans and equipment. Decks and outdoor seating areas with views of the trees, water, and birds. Highly recommend.

Summary: Love Frankes place. The good- Large roomy home. Nice decks with bbq. Great selection of kitchen appliances and gadgets. Great master bed, very comfortable! Very secluded location, could not see another home. Huge selection of book and cds , probably over 100 of each! The not so good- Several windows that either have moisture between panes or a heavy film on the outside. Swivel chairs in living room have dirty/ greasy stains on the arms. Wouldn’t sit in them, need to be cleaned or replace. Sun shade above kitchen table is rotted from exposure to sun. Coming apart in places. The Terra cotta tile in the kitchen needs a good cleaning. Walked through the kitchen several times while preparing and eating dinner while wearing white socks. Sock bottoms had an incredible amount of nasty grime on them Actually threw socks away and put shoes on. Frank’s is a great place that is due for some maintenance. All that being said we would probably return in hopes of some maintenance being done.

Summary: We’ve been vacationing in Inverness over the past 18 years. Frank’s Place is our go to place to stay and our family has come to think of it as our home away from home. So many great memories made over the years. It’s a lovely home and I’m amazed at its versatility. It very comfortably accommodates everyone from as young as toddlers to seniors. The home has a fair amount of stairs, so maybe not suited for those for mobility challenges, but our 83 year old grandpa managed just fine. We will continue to come to Frank’s Place and are so grateful to Scott for sharing his slice of heaven.
