Positive: Occasionally I get this wrong, sometimes I get it right and sometimes I excel myself. From the moment we drove through the gates I thought I’d hit the bullseye and I wasn’t wrong. Julie and Mike through Mike’s incredible craftsmanship and Julie’s vision have created this quite beautiful lodge that’s just a joy to spend time in. It’s gorgeous, immaculate, lovely and private, even though you have Julie and Mike across the courtyard. We normally drop and bags and we are off, but we didn’t here, we went for a walk on their land and just relaxed and took it in. Nothing has been missed here, everything has been considered, like homemade snacks, sweets, wine and beer all waiting for you on arrival. Or brand new toothbrushes, just in case you’ve forgotten yours, medical stuff, toiletries…the list goes on, as I said nothing has been overlooked. We slept like logs and woke up to the sound of…well nothing, just bird song. Julie’s breakfast basket arrived as requested and we sat outside at the table and had a beautiful experience in the sunshine. The offering is generous, mixed and delicious, Julie made her own jam and some lovely little bacon quiche’s. Honestly we packed and left with heavy hearts even though our next destination was Grantley Hall at Ripon. The last thing we did was hugged Julie and shook Mikes hand and told them to put up their prices. We’ll be back. Julie, you’re just amazing, Mike your a lovely Yorkshireman and a skilled craftsmen
Negative: Nothing! It’s PERFECT
Summary: Exceptional 12/10!

Positive: An exceptional stay from day of booking until time of leaving.. we couldn't have asked for more. Julie was a fantastic host and absolutely nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was beautiful; Extremely clean and tidy. What made it even more special for me was all the little extras: On arrival we had a goody hamper filled with scones, butter and jam: crisps and nuts, cheese, grapes and crackers. We opened the fridge to milk and wine. Complimentary extras throughout the annexe.. Continental breakfast hamper..... What can I say.... Such a tasty, well thought out selection. Had a great night sleep on the large comfy bed. Fans for a hot night/ heater ,blankets and hot water bottle for the cold ones! All in all a superb night away.. will definitely be back next year. 😁
Negative: Nothing to dislike!!!!
Summary: Exceptional retreat.

Positive: Came across Mike and Julie’s bed and breakfast by chance, looking for a quiet piece of country side that would be close to town. As a sole lodger of their northern hospitality, I was looked after in a semidetached house that mixes a rustically handcrafted interior with modern conveniences. The spacious bedroom, bathroom, and hearty breakfast hamper had me wishing I had visited with a partner for a weekend getaway. What the listing does not emphasise is just how large the property’s outdoor grounds are: - A garden path, flowers, bird feeding, and landscaped grass throughout. - Couples could choose to picnic in a number of spots on the grounds: under a pergola, beneath a hanging tree, or on the grass just across from apprehensively curious sheep. - Woodland animals abound: rabbits of all sizes, squirrels, and a badger. I reserved at Mike and Julie’s B&B to attend a nearby wedding, and they even helped drop me off at the location. Appreciated that. For the logistically minded, the location is best reached by car, with several cab companies operating in the area. Food app deliveries with JustEat worked for me at dinner time.
Summary: The thoughtful intentness of the lodgings is felt throughout the premises
