Opened in May 2019, our fully renovated four-star gîte offers outstanding quality accommodation, along with specialist facilities for people taking a driving holiday or touring through France. Discounted rate for a single couple - please contact us.
Perfect for classic car/motorbike enthusiasts, with a unique offer not found elsewhere, we provide safe private parking with CCTV for two-three cars (additional space available on our drive way), car cleaning equipment, tools, disposable overalls, bespoke driving routes, an interactive tourist map with tried and tested directions to all of the main local tourist spots, and a pre-programmed sat nav to ensure guests get the most out of their car/motorbike. Our printed local driving routes will provide all of the driving fun you need – once you find these roads you may not want to go anywhere else!
The two bedroomed property accommodates four people (two couples) very comfortably, or three friends (two sharing a room using a sofa bed). The large kitchen offers everything guests can possibly need for a self-catering holiday with a very high standard of equipment. In addition to the pantry items listed below, we also provide a welcome pack including milk, juice, baguette, pasta and pasta sauce and other provision to help guests through their first evening and morning.
In addition to the linen, towels and toiletries, we also provide hotel slippers provided to keep your toes warm on the tiled floors!
A private decking and garden area offers space for outside relaxation and dining, with a dining table/chairs and sun loungers, enabling guests to make the most of the superb views across the valley.
We are situated off the Route Nationale (N21) between Limoges and Perigueux along a no-through road, so there is limited passing traffic and the only noise you generally hear is the birds. It's a perfect spot to relax, unwind and enjoy the peace and tranquillity. The village has a bakers, butcher, supermarket, pharmacy and other shops as well as a couple of restaurants. La Coquille is on the main trainline between Limoges and Perigueux which can take guests to Bordeaux in around two and a half hours. The town of Thiviers is a short drive away and has a superb weekly market as well as lots of community activities. There is plenty of history in the area such as the nearby town of Châlus with its links to Richard the Lionheart, and the sobering Oradour-sur-Glane World War II memorial which we would highly recommend to all visitors. In addition to the superb drives available around our local roads, there are swimming lakes, caves, historic buildings and châteaux to keep guests busy.

Our season runs from 1 April to 31 October due to cost of heating the gite in the winter. We update our calendar immediately any booking is received so if the dates are showing as available in the calendar then the gite is available - you do not need to send an enquiry just to check availability. Summary: Booked very late due to change of holiday plans, booking was easy with excellent feedback & helpful information from the owners. All equipment was absolutely spotless and it really was a pleasure to stay there and meet Stephen & Stephanie. This was our very first Site holiday and it has set some very high standards. WE do feel that we really did strike lucky with this Gem of a property and very friendly & helpful owners. WE will definitely return.
