Immerged in the beautiful and peaceful Umbrian countryside stay magnificently Le Macee, a stunning farmhouse dated back to the late 17th century.
The house went through two restorations, the first done during the 70s and the second a few years ago by the current owners. The restorations were undertaken taking into account the uniqueness of the building and therefore a conservative architectural approach allowed the preservation of the original atmosphere of ancient terracotta floors and beamed ceilings typical of the traditional Umbrian countryside houses.
A sense of warmth and comfort was added by the modern facilities that the house got after those projects of restoration and refurbishment.
It lays on two floors. The ground floor is the “living” space. The first floor is the sleeping area as well as a TV area and family room (and an additional sitting room in front of a huge ancient fireplace).
The first floor features a fully equipped kitchen with all modern facilities, a huge lounge next to with a 10/12 seat dining table and a sitting area with sofas in front of the fireplace. From the lounge there is access to a big terrace boasting a breathtaking panorama overlooking the valley. A fully equipped laundry and a powder room are also on the ground floor.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms (a queen, a double king-size, a twin) each with en-suite bathroom. All the bathrooms have shower and two of them feature bath tub as well.
The house is conveniently located to reach any destination in the central part of Italy, just 15 km from Todi and 30 km from Orvieto, 45 km from Perugia, a couple of hours drive from Florence and Rome (FCO). Other important cities and towns and landmarks like Assisi Siena Deruta Gubbio Spoleto are located within an hour or so from the house.
The neighborourhood offer the possibility to enjoy meals in cozy restaurants or indulge in the best coffee or an Italian aperitivo in the charming bars and traditional coffee shops, about a few minutes drive.
The nearest hamlets to Villa Le Macee are Acqualoreto where you can find a nice restaurant (La Cruccola) and a little coffee shop, Izzalini with a cool coffee shop and restaurant Kairos Kafe and a renowned bakery, Morre and Collelungo, with small grocery shops. If you fancy long walks those places are reachable in 30 minutes.
Also you can find a cheese farm in Collelungo, where fresh mozzarella, ricotta cheese, pecorino and other specialties are produced on a weekly basis. Visits at the cheese workshop can be organized during the days dedicated to cheese making.
If you like sports, at the Sport Centre in Todi you will find tennis clay courts, olympic swimming pool with slides, archery.
Umbria is important for its wines. Important reds like Sagrantino and Rosso are produced in Montefalco (45 minutes drive) whereas very good whites are produced in Orvieto.
In Todi area many medieval villages are to be discovered and local food and wine are worthy a taste.
Services available at the Villa are guided tours, wine tasting at the Villa or wine tasting at the local wineries and cellars, cook preparing traditional Umbrian meals, massages.
The annex laying on the grounds of Villa Le Macee, about 10 meters away from the main house is now available for bigger groups. Overall the property can host 10 people plus one kid up to 12 y.o.
The annex lays on two floors, the ground floor, with a kitchen and dining area, a sitting room, a toilet and a laundry, the upper floor, with two double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms.
The two houses will not be rented to two separate groups.

Summary: This beautiful home in Umbria was exactly what we needed for downtime between day trips between towns. We would head out early and be home for a swim and relax taking in the wonderful views. Summary: We had a wonderful holiday at the Villa Le Macce. The property is perfect for a family getaway. The views are incredible and there is a lot to see and do within easy driving distance. The host was very helpful and the villa had everything we needed. The pool was wonderful and meant that we could enjoy being outside even in 37 degree heat. I would highly recommend this property.

Summary: The villa is picturesquely nestled in the gently rolling hills of Umbria, surrounded by forest and olive groves. The views were breathtaking and made for a postcard-perfect morning. The nearby villages and towns such as Orvietto and Todi were easy to reach and offered ample opportunities for cultural exploration and culinary delights. The villa itself was a gem. With its traditional architecture and attention to detail. The rooms were spacious, tastefully decorated and every detail was thought through. We were particularly impressed with the living and dining area, which was perfect for cozy evenings. The villa had a beautiful pool area and a wonderful garden, ideal for relaxing, sunbathing and playing. A highlight was the large terrace with a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside - the perfect place for al fresco dining. All in all, a great experience!

Summary: Beautiful villa in rural Umbria. We stayed as a large family group (8 adults and one 3 year old) and had a fantastic time. Villa was very spacious & had everything we needed, with good facilities and lovely pool area and separate barbecue area for outside dining/cooking. Villa is in secluded rural setting so very peaceful but does mesan you need a car.

Summary: Villa Macee is a great place to get away from it all--with beautiful views. The property managers are very helpful and the pool is really nice on hot days. It's an old stone house that has been nicely renovated and it's comfortable indoors even when very hot outside. There's also a 2 bedroom annex next door that you can rent if a larger group. We went with lots of different friends and family coming to visit over the course of 1 month and everyone loved it. It is isolated--which is great for relaxation but it does mean driving for shopping, eating out etc...There are a few small villages nearby (but not really within walking distance) and a few restaurants and shops and it's a 25 min drive to Todi, where you can buy everything. Would definitely recommend to those seeking a quiet secluded vacation.

Summary: We stayed at the stunning Villa La Macee for 10 days in September/October 2018, the quintessential country home that provided a base for exploring the more rural side of Umbrian life. Whether we were enjoying a sunrise cup of coffee on the terrace or a sunset glass of wine strolling around the olive grove, the sweeping views were breathtaking. The villa interior is immaculate, comfortable, and perfectly appointed with all the creature comforts of home including good and reliable WiFi service. It looks exactly as described and shown. The master bathroom offers a gorgeous clawfoot tub overlooking the local hills which is perfect for a relaxing soak after a long day of exploration. Sabrina, the concierge/caretaker is a lovely woman who lives locally and provided an unparalleled knowledge of the area. She was always available with a prompt reply via text for any question or to provide a recommendation including making reservations for dinner, massages, and horseback riding. She is warm and welcoming and our stay would not have been the same without her. Staying so far outside of a large city may seem challenging, but Sabrina went out of her way to be inviting and showed us a warm friendship that made us feel like true locals! There are many fine sections around the grounds from which to perch and take in the sights and sounds of the small towns perched high in the surrounding hills. The pool remained open upon request as it was late in the season and though we only used it once, it was easy to be envious of summer travelers who surely enjoyed it and the cabana during the warmer weather. The trampoline provided for a fun photo prop. There are several sweet little local shops, cafes, and restaurants within a 5-15 minute drive of the villa. This gave the villa a feeling of being private and hidden but not isolated. The local grocery store 10 minutes away in Collelungo was open at convenient hours and was perfect for gathering the provisions to craft homemade Italian meals. Particularly enjoyable for dinner were the Kairos Kafe and Ristaurante Semiramide. We hired Alessandra, a fabulous local masseuse, who came to Macee and set up her table on the terrace. A massage overlooking the countryside was an opulent treat. Be aware that staying in this location truly requires a car as there is no local transport, though it is possible to hire Ivan, the caretaker, for car service. Enjoy your stay at Macee and say ciao to Aurora, the farm kitty, for us!

Summary: We (a group of 3 couples in our late 30s) have just returned from a wonderful week at La Macee. The villa was excellent and had everything we needed, including a very well stocked kitchen. Pool & BBQ areas both lovely and lots of room in the villa to relax. Sabrina was very helpful whenever we needed any help or advice. Great location, but a car is definitely necessary. So many lovely hilltop towns/villages close by to visit and the food & wine are amazing!! As are the shops!! Nothing negative to report at all.
