Positive: The island itself is quite beautiful.

Negative: We fell into this trap. This island is anything but a luxury retreat. After it was last renewed in 2000 it had not been modified, renovated or updated since and what once might have been an acceptable resort is now a run down ghost village in the tacky style of a 90s club, lifeless and fallen out of time. The brown, rusty water that squirts out of the granny shower or the tattered and patched mosquito net in our „superior suite“ give you a castaway feeling - much less in a romantic than in a desperate way. The lighthouse on top of the island had been abandoned and the rust-stained bare mattresses in the deteriorated rooms up there would make for a great horror film set. The breakfast was what you would expect from your unemployed uncle who lives in a housing project. The squeeky Christmas jazz at the dinner table, the bizarre good-bye dance choreography from the otherwise completely absent and robotic (albeit friendly) staff as well as the grotesque little jewellery store under a palm tree just don’t turn this sad island into a „luxury resort“. The only „luxury“ were the excessive prices for any drink - cocktail, wine, water - or snack that you are forced to pay as you are a castaway on this trap island. So, what at first came as an interesting surprise soon proved to be the logical consequence to our impressions: the two of us were the single and solitary guests throughout our entire stay. It was certainly an experience - but not one that you would want to pay money for.

Positive: great location, few people on the island , free use of kayak, sup . real relax

Negative: food . no choice in the evening - high price for buffet options. Fresh cooked fish was only in the evening when big group came . poor snack bar options . expensive tours to outside island locations
