Summary: Had a delightful stay at the Florida House Inn! We stayed two nights in a standard queen room with a car parked in the hotel lot. Julie and her staff welcomed us at check in and our room was exactly as expecred--quaint and comfortable. Our room was on the back side of the house, facing the courtyard, and we had a morning view of the adorable cats that prowl the property. The room had excellent air conditioning (upper 90's/low 100's during our stay), adequate lighting for getting ready to go out, and the water pressure in the shower was amazing...especially good for the post-beach wash. The amenities provided with the room were simple- a small TV (which we did not turn on), hangers and a small ironing board & iron in a corner wardrobe, and soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash supplied. Both mornings of our stay we partook in the complimentary breakfast. The food options were basic but delicious, with fresh scrambled eggs, grits, bacon, and quiche bites made each morning and a variety of other options, and the spread was perfect for what we were looking for out of a quick bite before heading out for the day. The location of the Inn also could not be beat, just off the main street of downtown, which made walking to dinner both nights easy and comfortable. I will definitely consider staying here again as the charm of the inn and its history make it a unique stay experience and the staff was wonderful.

Summary: Overall good experience. Great location and that's mainly why we chose it. It has a certain vibe that was charming and quiet, but it is an older property, so keep that in mind. Comfortable and unique. If you are a picky traveler, look elsewhere, but if you enjoy a more local, authentic experience this may be the property for you.

Summary: The inn is located in a perfect spot within a short walk to many restaurants, bars and shops. The inn is very old, but that is not a negative. It is very charming. There is live music next door till 11 pm, so if you go to bed before that, you may want to stay somewhere else. The free breakfast on the weekend is supposed to be from 8:30-9:30, but each morning the gentleman running breakfast would say they will not be ready until 9. Kind of frustrating when planning a day. Overall, I would absolutely stay here again.

Summary: Staff was essentially nowhere to be found, however nice when checking in. Never answered phones nor returned messages. Seems to be a consistent issue looking at other reviews. Certain policies are on their website, but not on third party booking sites, but they were accommodating.

Summary: We got a "deluxe" room which wasn't deluxe but I guess it was larger than the average room at this hotel. At least was not a closet. The bed was super comfortable and the breakfast with the wonderful biscuits and homemade jam were really the highlight which redeemed this hotel for us. The location was quaint but parking is too limited. It was fine overall but pricey for what we got.
