Positive: The apartment is part of a house that is split in 3 or 4 apartments. These are managed by a very friendly and helpful host who AFAIK does not live on-site. The house is located some 15km north of Bergen, and it lies along a very steep and small road. The premises looks like a work in progress; not everything is finished yet and inside it feels like stuff like furniture, cutlery, dishes, pots and pans were added a bit haphazardly. We missed a water kettle, a quite ubiquitous device in a Norwegian kitchen. On the upside, after a telephone call to the host he brought one in later that night. While you cannot fault the fjord view we had the downstairs apartment, so this view was restricted to one window under the terrace of the upper floor. I suspect that from there the view is better :-) What is very nice about the location is that 200 meters from the house a bus stops that has an efficient connection to Bergen. Tickets and schedules are all obtained with apps, the host was very helpful in pointing out how to use public transport. A much better way to visit Bergen than with your own car.

Negative: The parking facilities. As said, the house sits along a steep road and has an even steeper driveway. On top next to the house there is place for 2 cars max. Down next to the driveway there is space for another 2 cars, but that is a very narrow, rough spot. Much nicer parking 5 meters away cannot be used as that is meant for the neighbors. But then again, maybe parjing is also a work in progress.

Positive: The view. Spacious. Pretty central location. Great to have a washing machine.

Negative: Smart lights made no sense. Bit noisy if you’re sensitive to it.
