Positive: It's in a mini village, not touristic at all, but one of the nicest hikes of the Lofoten leaves here. The hotel room was without breakfast, but you can bring your own, but the really nice host makes coffee and waffles in any way and it's free of charge. So you breakfast in anyway. And there are no tour busses, no camper vans, only the little place to stay and hikers coming by. We wish we had booked more nights ...

Negative: Nothing. Everything was nice. Wpuld love to stay there once in wintertime.

Positive: Super cute and cozy rorbu. It was well decorated and very comfortable. The neighboring cafe is welcoming and staff is very friendly. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful, perfect place to disconnect.

Negative: It was unclear that the toilet was external to the rorbu until arrival. The stove top was difficult to use (instructions on its use would have been useful, described amenities and listing pictures of kitchenette did not indicate that a stovetop was included). Finally, the check-in instructions were slightly confusing. It would have been helpful to have the rorbu circled in the photos to make it clear which one was ours or have a map.

Positive: We stayed in the "rorbu" cottage. The cottage is authentic and nicely renovated, with a shockingly amazing shower. The only thing missing is a toilet, but you have access to a standard clean flushing toilet in a tiny wooden shed behind the cottage. There is obviously a plan to install a toilet in the cottage as there is already an extra room for that, so it might be already there by the time you visit. If you need a fully equipped kitchen, it is also in a separate building, but you have some "kitchen" space in the cottage. We loved Nesland and the area. We wanted to stay 1 night, buy ended up staying 3 nights. We managed to catch some nice fish from the shore behind the cottage, but the area is quite rocky with a lot of seaweed. I had better luck with lighter lures which won't sink to deep. Overall, it was an amazing stay and I would love to return one day.

Negative: The only thing missing was the toilet, but it will be probably installed soon, as there is already a separate room in the cottage next to the amazing shower.

Positive: This is a beautiful and authentically renovated 150 year old Fisherman's cabin (rorbu) directly on the water and far from the tourist crowd. It is a real rorbu experience in contrast to many of the 'rorbu' being rented to tourists that are liItle more than overpriced red cabins. is located in a tiny village reached by a long dirt road. The village is being carefully restored, preserving the history and character of the buildings while offering modern amenities. The cabin actually has its own shower and washbasin. However the toilet is outside in an outhouse--a common pattern for Scandinavian hytte. There is also a communal kitchen for cooking.. It seems that there might be some additional renovations planned for the rorbu:a small kitchen in the cabin and indoor toilet one day.

Negative: The photos and description do not accurately represent the cabin or display its beauty and history. The cabin is far more beautiful and has many more amenities (a gorgeous dining/living room and own shower) that are not depicted. The photos are of the main house/hostel.
