Our 'Misty Mountain' cabin retreat is a home away from home. Secluded at the end of a gravel road 2,400 feet high up on Ammons mountain in the Clarks Chapel community of Franklin. You will surround yourself with nature, wildlife, and relaxation. Our cabin can comfortably accommodate two families and sleeps 6 people with one master bedroom with king bed, one guest bedroom with a queen bed, and an upstairs loft with two twin beds. This recently renovated home has native hardwood floors throughout, two full bathrooms upstairs and downstairs, and a huge 750 square foot wraparound deck that peers over the mountain edge. In addition there is a gas fireplace, internet, cable TV and firepit out back. Four wheel drive or all wheel drive is highly recommended. Due to the gravel roads motorcycles are not permitted. If you are looking for a mountain retreat or a family vacation, this has it all. Grab a drink and enjoy a sunset dinner on the deck.
Dogs are allowed, $50 non refundable pet fee to be added. 2 Maximum- under 25 pounds each
If you love hiking, white water rafting, shopping, or just sitting on the deck and soaking up the view, it is here for you. The white water rafting is some of the best in the country -- hit the Nantahala, Ocoee, or Tuskegee rivers or tackle the class five rapids of the Chattooga. There are incredible fishing opportunities in the rivers, streams and creeks near the cabin, and are only minutes away from numerous waterfall hiking trails throughout the Great Smoky Mountains. New to town is the Smoky Mountains Performing Arts Center -- a 1,500 seat state-of-the-art facility presenting the finest in performing arts to Franklin and its surrounding towns.
An hour away is the gem of the western Carolinas, Asheville, where you can visit the beautiful Biltmore Estate and gardens, known widely as America's Castle. Owned by the Vanderbilt family, the Biltmore Estate is the largest privately owned residence in North America. Summary: Just what the doctor ordered. I wanted to rest, relax, recharge and that’s exactly what I got. The views were great, the house had everything one needs and we close enough to town for extras. This was so worth the trip and The Morgan’s are amazing hosts.

Summary: We had a wonderful short stay (5 days) at this lovely property. It was exactly the relaxing time we needed before going back to work. The views from the deck are spectacular, even on cloudy days, and the house was clean and had everything we needed. I was worried about the drive to the property, but the road was ok for our Subaru on automatic. We just followed the owners instructions and stayed at 10-12 miles per hour all the way up. This is our third time staying in the mountains close to Franklin and it was perfect. I highly recommend it.

Summary: We and a fantastic time celebrating my 40th birthday and Thanksgiving. The view is amazing. Deer are constantly walking past the deck. The property was very clean and well equiped. The drive way coming up is tight and steep, but definitely do-able with All or 4 Wheel Drive. This was our first time staying near Franklin, we tend to stay closer to Robbinsville, NC. Franklin is a cool town. I didn't realize how much there was to do. We had some really good food downtown and enjoyed the breweries as well.

Summary: From the moment I found my way up Misty Mountain, I knew the right and perfect retreat had arrived. The view is amazing and to watch the yellows of Autumn give way to the deep reds was absolute heaven! The cabin is not only clean, but there was plenty of space for my things. I loved the glorious fireplace and spent almost all of my time on the deck. Clean. So Peaceful. Perfect in every way.

Summary: If I was to improve anything at all about my entire experience with my week stay at this gorgeous house in the mountains …I can’t possibly think of what it would be! House was clean and cozy. Owners where friendly and informative and helpful, Communication was great. View was awesome. Location was central to hiking,shopping, gemming, waterfalls. Summary: Beautiful views! Great cabin layout for spending time together as a family. My children loved playing with the games and they have lots of children’s chapter books too. It was easy to find the cabin using Lori and Dan’s directions. The road was a bit twisty on the way up, but not hard at all with an all wheel drive vehicle in low gear. So worth the stay!
