Positive: The countryside setting was a lovely change from the hustle & bustle of the cities. The grounds of the hotel are lush & green. There was a very nice public seating area with comfortable seating & good wifi for relaxing.

Negative: A bath mat would be an easy & inexpensive addition to the room. The shower leaks water all over & there was nothing to mop it up with except an old & dirty rag that had been placed in front of the shower. The bathroom was not very clean either. The breakfast, which wasn't included in the price of the room, was mediocre at best. Very limited condiments to put on the various bread products.

Summary: Fine, but nothing special given the cost.

Positive: We stayed here for two nights, as we moved north from Tinghir to Rabat. We intentionally booked our stay for Monday and Tuesday nights, so that we could experience the animal market at the weekly Tuesday souk. The hotel was a convenient base for us. The hotel is on a rural hillside, overlooking the town and the hills beyond. There is a short gravel road that has to be negotiated to reach the hotel. There is private parking on the property. Guest rooms are in two operate buildings that resemble houses. There was a common lounge and a kitchen area in our building. Our room was spacious with a large bed. Meals are served in a detached dining room, located in the dining room. We enjoyed our breakfasts and dinners there. There is a pool, but it was empty in April as it is too cold.

Negative: Whilst there was free wifi, we found that the signal didn't work in our room, so we had to sit in the lounge area to effectively use it. However, the lounge area (as well as our room) was cold in the evening. I don't know why, but the practice was to leave the external door for the common area wide open, which was why the lounge area was so cold. We couldn't close the door, as the lock would have engaged, meaning that nobody could enter without a key (and guests only receive keys for their own room). We were told by the manager that the door is closed at 11.00pm. On the second evening, we noticed that a key had been placed in the outside of the door. By 6.00pm, our room was getting cold. Whilst there is a split system air conditioning unit mounted to the wall, it seems to be inoperative and there is no remote control for it. The room and the bathroom have heating radiators installed, but they were not working. I had to tell the manager that we were cold and then he sent a member of staff to turn on the heating system, so that we would get heat from the radiator. But by 7.00am, the system had been turned off again. I got the impression that the property was trying to cut costs on heating, at the expense of its guests. On that first cold night, we were the first guests to arrive in the dining room for dinner. The windows and the door were all wide open, so it was very cold inside. I had to close all of the windows myself. On our second night, we were sitting in the cold lounge area using the wifi when the manager came by and asked if we would like the fire lighting. He sent a member of staff and soon there was a roaring fire which was very welcome indeed. When we came back from dinner, other guests were sitting by the fire, but it had died down by then and there were no additional logs available to keep it going.
