Positive: The chef at this hotel is second to none. We ate at the hotel’s restaurant on both evenings and the food was excellent, the banana soufflé was outstanding so much so that we had it for dessert on both nights.

Positive: Great location. A lovely bay within 300 mtrs of ‘Farr cottage’ (we stayed here for the night). Very peaceful, comfortable bed, all the kitchen facilities needed. Parking right by the cottage. Lovely staff, very welcoming.

Negative: The cottage has been refurbished but some things have been missed. We struggled to lock the cottage door once inside. The hot water from the kitchen and bathroom tap didn’t get ‘hot’. However, the shower was electric and this worked perfectly.

Summary: Comfortable cottage in a beautiful location, added restaurant was a real bonus!

Positive: Farr Bay Inn is situated close to a beautiful scenic beach, and with a direct access to it. Our room was very clean and spacious, tastefully decorated, and featured a large bed. We had a delicious dinner and breakfast there. The hosts were very kind and welcoming.

Positive: The cottage that we stayed in was superb. Very up-to-date and comfortable. The beds and bedding were excellent and extremely comfortable. The Farr Bay Inn was lovely and friendly and we enjoyed our drinks and evening meal.

Negative: The price of meals and breakfast. Although the food was excellent, it was very expensive for what we got. We opted not to have breakfast before leaving as it was £20 per person and having stayed in other hotels during our trip around the NC500, this was on average £6-£8 more expensive.

Summary: Beautiful cottages and pub, however the food is very expensive.
