Upstairs the 4 bedrooms each have 2 windows, high ceilings with chestnut beams and are furnished with antiques.
Two rooms have double beds and the other two twin rooms can make giant doubles.
There are two bathrooms with showers, WC and basin; one with a bidet.
A cot, high chair and a stair gate are available.
All linen, towels and pool towels are provided.
Downstairs there is a twin/double room with view over the terrace to the east.
The bathroom with shower, WC and basin also houses the washing machine.
There is a comfortable sitting room with log burner, DVD and Ipod dock, masses of books, cards and games. The large dining kitchen has a 5 hob gas stove and oven, dishwasher, 2 fridge/freezers and plenty glasses and crockery. Plastic glasses for the pool are supplied.
The covered kitchen terrace has a table to seat 12, a huge BBQ and the old bread oven.
To the front of the house is a wisteria covered terrace with rustic table seating up to 16 and plenty of herbs to pick.
Col di Lavacchio offers beautiful comfort in its lovingly restored traditional Garfagnana farmhouse which includes 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Overlooking the mountains and secluded in a rocky alcove fringed with lavender is the stunning 12m pool with wooden loungers.
Relax in a hammock with a good book from the extensive library, have a game of table tennis or lawn boules, wander through the many terraces and chestnut groves or contemplate a little peace on the hill top yoga deck. Should your passion be cooking, the kitchen is well equipped and there is seasonal organic vegetables available on site.
The house is well appointed with a comfortable sitting room, wisteria-covered dining terraces, a huge BBQ and a beautiful ancient pizza oven. There are 4 elegant bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the 1st floor with an additional bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor..
Local shops and restaurants are minutes away but should you wish to be delighted there is a resident chef who can prepare a candlelit dinner on the terrace especially for you. Alternatively, she can offer a riot of colour and flavour in a family pizza night.
The owners, Ailsa and Jamie Reynolds live up the hill and are happy to offer advice - where to shop, what to see, book restaurants and galleries and generally help you have a memorable holiday whilst respecting your privacy. A shopping service is available if you want to arrive at the house to find your fridge packed with local goodies.
Cooking classes and guided walks are available on request.

Summary: Beautiful property in an idyllic Tuscan setting. Our three-generation family group relaxed together and had fun. We spent a lot of time in and around the lovely pool, enjoying the beautiful setting. The house is very comfortable and the kitchen thoughtfully equipped. Our hosts were kind and helpful. We enjoyed the Pizza evening and dinner provided by them.

Summary: A romantic farmhouse refurbished to newest standards situated in the lower Apennines in a remote area - very peaceful. Large nice private swimming pool. Very friendly owners offering a lot of services.

Summary: We had the most wonderful time and we can highly recommend this wonderful place, location and hosts. The countryside is beautiful and the pool an oases of freedom. The house is well equipped with all you need and you feel right away welcome and at home. Everything was a delight and so uncomplicated. The hosts are the nicest hosts we ever had. Ailsa and Jamie do everything imaginable for an amazing stay. AND they can cook amazing food. AND you get fresh organic produce which they plant on their land. It was all so nice we decided to just stay local. The place is so safe even for the smallest toddlers. The pool is gated and the land fenced. Until soon.

Summary: We had wonderful 10 days at Lavacchio. We were a group of 12 friends and booked the main house and the apartment. A lot of space for everybody, a great pool area, nice terrace for outdoor breakfasts and dinners, and cute cats to cuddle! We had really nice pizza evenings with the very friendly landlords Ailsa and Jamie! The pittoresque city of Barga is very close and worth a visit, Lucca is beautiful as well. Car is needed for shopping etc. Thank you Ailsa and Jamie for the wonderful stay!

Summary: We all really enjoyed our stay in this well appointed house. Jamie and Ailsa were great hosts and we can highly recommend the pizza evening. The only small thing were the mosquitos, so bring plenty of repellant!

Summary: Well presented property-immaculate throughout and accurately described. friendly owners always at hand when required, and provided excellent pizza night!
