Positive: The cottage is gorgeous, very comfortable and cosy and lovely nature around the property. I liked the wooden fire & hot tub, the hot tub just took a very long time to heat

Negative: The only thing I didn’t like was the amount of time the hot tub took to heat up, however when it was hot it was gorgeous. The only thing that would make me consider not re booking is the amount of additional extras costs included for example paying for wood for the fire, to use the lake, the dog & additional guests for £20 even though I booked a lodge for 4 people. It adds to to a lot of money, what doesn’t make the stay good value for money.

Summary: Good experience but be mindful of the extra costs

Positive: Everything! Lovely cabin, great wood fired hot tub on the beautiful balcony with breathtaking views of the surrounding farmland and woods and the inside of the cabin was spot on too! Brilliant facilities! Didn't miss the television at all! Despite having our 2 year old with us. The bed was so comfortable and everything about the place ticked all of the right boxes! It was perfect for us even the little things like the Pukka tea bags. We had fresh milk, juice, homemade marmalade and out of this world chicken liver, tequila and cranberry pate waiting for us in the fridge which went down a storm! Could've easily stayed longer!! We loved it so much we stayed for two nights instead of one.

Positive: The location was amazing. The Doghouse has the best spot, next to the stream. Loved the peace and tranquility. Sauna and plunge pool worth the additional cost. Our hosts Jen & Mags were wonderful. Mags' artwork adorns the accommodation and it is beautiful. Bed was so comfy, shower red hot, little treats left for us and the dog, along with dog bowl and dog bags were so thoughtful. Please don't book unless you love, sheep, goats, chickens, wildlife and serenity.

Positive: The owners are amazing - this trip was booked for my friends and that have not stopped telling me about how welcome they felt throughout the trip. Also they have games arrange with the lodges - which were amazing. There no reason for tv or any electronic devices - they have thought of everything and honestly wish them the best of luck for the future. We will all definitely be back.

Positive: Absolutely loved our 2 nights here with our 2 little boys. Jenny and Margaret were so welcoming, added so many little touches, homemade orange marmalade, apple juice, board games, and even owls all over the lodge to find. The place is so peaceful, relaxing, and atmospheric. Clean, everything needed, if needed anything the communication was spot on, nothing ever too much trouble, hot tub at sunset was stunning and the boys loved the sheep and chickens . We would recommend Owl Lodge to anyone you will not be disappointed, the best place we have stayed, and we have stayed in quite a few hotels and retreats and are planning on coming back again soon. Thank you, Jenny and Margaret, for making our little getaway perfect
