The perfect place for some getaway family fun. Whitegate Lodge sits back off Vanocker Canyon on the way to Dalton Lake. This home has been completely remodeled and will give space for all to enjoy. This six-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bath home also has two separate kitchens and living areas to allow time together and smaller space for those that wake early or stay up late. Two special loft areas have been created for the kids to escape to make many memories.
Head outside to savor views of the valley from the large deck off the great room and kitchen. The deck has ample seating and a gas firepit, and you can cook up your favorite barbecue on the grill. If you bring the kids, they can romp around the yard, play on the swing set, or enjoy an adventurous hike. Don't forget to take the crew over to Dalton Lake, located just a few miles down the road!

Summary: Our family (two grandparents, seven children/spouses, and eight grandchildren aged 1-15 years) loved our stay! The home is settled in next to a forest with views of rocky outcrops and a peaceful meadow. There was only one other house anywhere near us. The children had room to run and listen to their echoes to their hearts’ content. The two kitchens were great for serving up food for 17. The hosts provided everything we could have needed. There was plenty of space for everyone whether they wanted to play indoor or outdoor games with others, or a quiet place to read. The home is centered between all of the Black Hills tourist sites. Dalton Lake, a quiet, little lake, is only about 2 miles away. It was beautiful and the trout were large! Ending each day around the fire pit on the huge deck with the family watching the deer in the meadow is a memory I’ll cherish for a long time!

Summary: We loved everything about this beautiful lodge. Our family enjoyed every inch from the little girl’s play loft, play ground, little bicycles to the teenager’s game room and basketball court. The kitchen and bedrooms easily accommodated our large group. Breakfast on the patio and cozy discussions around the fire in the evening were great. The piano and guitar was a special treat. We will definitely book another vacation here!

Summary: This is not our first stay at White Gate Lodge and it certainly won't be our last. Our family stayed (7 adults, 3 kids) over the 4th of July. We found it to be a great spot to land for our 4-wheeling adventure. There are many trails starting right there, yet it's off the beaten path, so you don't hear others enjoying the trails. The game room was a new addition this year - it entertained young and old alike. My favorite way to start and end the day is on the huge deck. I could sit and look at that view for hours. The house is comfortable, has everything imaginable for cooking and has space for us to spread out. We spent a rainy-day playing games and putting puzzles together. We will be back!
