Summary: Recommend the property unreservedly but suggest you book directly through cottages.com as that is where Vrbo will throw you anyway. The Vrbo system was a massive let down and caused a great deal of stress with confirmation of the booking. Give them a wide berth but enjoy thi ssuper property if you can.

Summary: Lovely setting, so quiet & peaceful which is just what we wanted. Very atmospheric, loved the log burner, everything you could need is supplied. Summary: Beautifully positioned for visiting places - several beautiful walks and attractions within half an hour drive eg. National Arboretum. There is a pub within a 5-10min walk serving good food, but advise that you have a torch handy for the walk back! The cottage is very peaceful and private, a little ‘tired’ but clean, with a very comfortable bed. There is an additional charge on site for the oil heating. Summary: The Carthouse was amazing, so peaceful, we immediately felt very relaxed which was exactly what we wanted. Appreciated the welcome bits that were left for us. It is very spacious considering it has just the one bedroom. Loved having a 'proper' fire, a real treat!! Great place and would highly recommend. Summary: Very pleasant spot within easy reach of Malmesbury and handy for the local Waitrose. Covid restrictions did limit our access to some local attractions but as we were visiting family in the area this did not affect our stay. The cottage was well equipped and spacious for 2 people but although clean and tidy we were slightly unimpressed with level of extra cleaning advertised because of covid 9. Summary: Thoroughly enjoyed this lovely old barn,one thing it needs is a shelf in the wet room to hold soap,shower gel,as it had to be left on the floor whilst showering.

Summary: We used this purely as a base because we knew we would be going out every day. Set in a very quiet village that had no shop and only one pub that was closed on the monday and the kitchen was closed on the wednesday. The nearest supermarket is waitrose. The carthouse is a quaint little converted barn, which we felt was a little tired looking, needs some updating. So much more could be done to give it the wow factor. If you don't like birds, insects bugs or spiders this place wont be for you. Also there was no BBQ there which was stated.
