Summary: We had a wonderful stay at The Ormond from the time we arrived until we left. The room was lovely, the staff were helpful and very friendly. We shall certainly miss the wonderful breakfast, and the vast choice to choose from. We had our first night meal at the hotel and it was excellent. The hotel is situated in Long Street with shops and restaurants a few minutes walk away. We shall definitely be returning.

Summary: Whilst the staff were lovely the hotel room was very tired. The breakfast was really good but the evening meal was average and clearly warmed up. I hadn’t realised either that there was no where on site to park.

Summary: This place is set in a very pretty street and had a lovely ambiance, leading through the entrace arch into a courtyard with doors to the bar and hotel leading off. We couldn't park anywhere to drop off our bags, but luckily the local car park was a very short walk away and free (as we parked at 6pm on Saturday overnight to Sunday). Check in was quick and simple and we were shown to our room by a pleasant and friendly member of staff. We found the window already open in the room (it was a very hot day) and a fan in the room which was great. The beds were very comfortable and the ensuite perfectly clean and adequate, if not luxurious. Despite being at the front of the property, even with the window open all night it was not noisy, so we had a great nights sleep. My big gripe was, that we couldn't get the shower to work correctly. On checking in I managed a trickle of lukewarm water, but in the morning we both suffered freezing cold showers, despite both spending quite a time adjusting, testing, waiting etc. I'm so glad I didn't need to wash my hair! In this day and age surely this is the most basic of requirements. We did not complain at the time, (but left a note on the empty reception on leaving). Who wants to summon someone when naked, cold and wet to sort it??? For the money we paid it was still good value, but the shower was a sore point, Would we stay again?, maybe in a different room.

Summary: What a nice hotel- especially the new units out the back! With the heat wave, air conditioning was greatly appreciated. Just wish there was parking :(.

Summary: I stayed three night (room only). Very friendly staff. Very nice room. Some areas of the hotel could do with new paint and a bit of maintenance but I suppose that's just normal 'wear and tear". Had one evening meal along with a pint of Guinness. I thought it was quite expensive ("London prices"). I would stay in the hotel again

Summary: The room was very well decorated and the bed linen was excellent. Plenty of pillows, warm duvet etc. In winter an extra heater and, as recently in a heatwave, an efficient tower fan. Very friendly and efficient staff. Good food at dinner.

Summary: Fabulous new modern room with a double shower en-suite and air conditioning. Just needs a mirror in the bedroom!! Lovely courtyard area outside the room with a small table and chairs. When we arrived a couple were sat at the table right outside our window having a meal which we thought was a bit weird. We had to shut the curtains so they couldn’t see inside. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. It was really warm when we stayed so we used the outside area for a coffee in the mornings. The doors to the kitchen were open, staff just need to remember that the guests can hear everything they say and hear their choice of music!! Metallica isn’t our first choice of band to listen to first thing in the morning when trying to have a quiet cuppa!! Overall though, a really enjoyable stay and would happily stay again.
