Positive: Incredible location right in the middle of town. Such a quaint, beautiful apartment, with all facilities you need to stay as a family. Hosts were so responsive and kind, including letting us check in earlier than expected.

Negative: I bumped my head a few times but that comes with being 190cm tall in an old house.

Positive: V clean, old charm Well equipped kitchen w basic commodities provided (a big plus) Well located esp if u have a car, supermarket/ bakeries nearby. 15 mins to Luzern , 40 mins to Zurich Hosts r v responsive and sweet n even prepared an extra bed for us and got us a kettle when we asked for it Each room has a tv (excellent to wind down before sleeping) Excellent heating Lots of board games provided for all ages Parking just outside the house The lake is 3 mins away on foot - absolutely perfect

Negative: A few things to beware of: This is the oldest house in Sempach so it comes w a lot of creaking noises from the floorboards (waking up type of noises), there is no noise insulation, each step is heard esp on the upper floor The two rooms r actually one inside the other. While it’s perfect for families esp those w kids, it may not be ideal for other type of groups If u r really tall, u might have a difficulty w the ceiling on the lower floor The shower could benefit from a wall fixture or something, as it gets a bit challenging to wash your hair just w the porcelain shower head

Positive: Host is responsive. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. The antique apartment lends a rustic touch to the overall stay. Kitchen is large and spacious and has an automatic coffee machine filled with coffee beans. Surroundings are pindrop silent. Sempach lake is a 3-min walk away where there's a sprawling playground that kids will love.

Negative: A dishwasher would be really useful especially for those who cook a lot. The upper floor was slanted to one side and the floorboards creak loudly when you walk on it. It might be a big deal if your kids are sensitive to noise. The taps were the old school cold + hot knobs which took a bit of tinkering to get the right temperature for showers.

Positive: The apartment is very comfortable. We felt like home in the oldest house of Simpach. It is close to an adorable lake and to the main attractions of the region (Interlaken, Luzern, Zurich, etc.). I recommend the place, specially for families. The decoration is very nice and the kitchen is equipped.

Negative: It is not something that I didn't like, but it is rather something to pay attention. On booking, it is said that all taxes are included in the price, but we had to pay 3 CHF per person and per night after we arrived, to have access to discount cards (that we didn't even used, because we didn't do any of the offered tours...)
