Summary: Weather was bad for the first few days, but the cottage was lovely and cosy. We stovked up on food and enjoyed some family time. When weather improved we were able to enjoy several locations. It was a lovely qiuet lication perfect for de-sttessing, helped by the ducks.

Summary: The cottage is beautiful, immaculately clean, very comfortable, well equipped, and spacious with 3 bedrooms snd two bathrooms. I would describe it as a little gem with oodles of character. Eileen and Richard are wonderful hosts. Such lovely people and gave great tips about where to go and where best to park. Got to mention Humphrey, Maple and Syrup - the adorable ducks! The cottage is in a great location to see Cumbria, the Lake District, Northumberland, and Dumfries & Galloway. Absolutely loved our stay here and wished we could have stayed longer. We are planning on booking another stay!

Summary: We regularly stay in holiday properties; most are adequate to good and they vary quite a lot in terms of being well equipped and the quality and taste of decor and furnishings. Eileen & Richard’s house is unquestionably one of the nicest we’ve ever stayed at. The entire house is tastefully and thoughtfully furnished, the kitchen has everything you could need and more; bedrooms comfortable and there are many small, but well considered little touches throughout the house that make it feel so welcoming and friendly. Eileen & Richard are lovely hosts; so friendly and knowledgeable about places to visit in the vicinity. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend in the highest possible terms.

Summary: A bit hard to find but well worth it when we got there. Our hosts could not do enough to please us. They were absolutely brilliant. Also their knowledge and recommendations of the area were spot on.The cottage itself was immaculate and all the appliances and furnishings were 1st class. And as an aside Josephine and the ducks were a delight.

Summary: Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Lily Cottage. Well equipped, nicely furnished and spotlessly clean. The hosts were perfection and we discovered several gems (salvage yard/plant nursery/private swimming pool!) that we'd otherwise have probably overlooked. We'd love to return!

Summary: We loved staying at the cottage. It was quiet with a beautiful view in the distance. The cottage was spacious with 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a kitchen, and a living room. The kids enjoyed watching the ducks and sitting on the raised platform overlooking the duck pond. Eileen was a great and kind host. Super friendly and took great care of us. I would recommend staying here if you want a quiet retreat near Carlisle. It was a good 45-50 min drive to Keswick, but we like driving and had no regrets on location. We are so glad we stayed here!
