Summary: The house and location were absolutely beautiful! There are a few things i could complain about and the major problem was no central air like the listing claims. They have A/Cs in the bedrooms. But the living room and dining area have no cooling systems. When i asked the property owner about the central air they said that the didn’t have any and then let us know they had a fan. The fan was a small oscillating fan that didn’t help cool it down. We had to bring the A/C from the downstairs bedroom to the dining room throughout the day so that it was cooler in the main areas. Back in the bedroom at bedtime. Also this house claimed to be kid friendly but didn’t have any kids toys and the back porch was open leaving the kids open to run down the hill and stairs to the dock. They did have a little inclosed area that i assume would be for pets to use the bathroom… not really for kids. The bathrooms… upstairs bathroom was disgusting, the shower vent was nasty and moldy. The downstairs bathroom(master) the shower and tub were disgusting and moldy. The jacuzzi tub didn’t work and the jets were also very disgusting and dirty. The bedroom with the king bed smelled of mildew and mold. The air filter is the a/c was absolutely awful. We had to clean it and open the windows to air it out. The house was a little over priced if you ask me since there in fact was no central air. But the view and being on the lake made it somewhat worth it.

Summary: We were excited to ice fish the famed Chaumont Bay for trophy walleye. Unfortunately the fishing didn't go as planned. The house was great, very clean and comfortable for our group. There was a minor issue with the boiler that the manager solved very quickly. I would definitely stay here again if the fishing was better. If you are headed there to ice fish, you should be aware that access to the water from the cottage is via a set of narrow stairs, and getting a shanty to the back yard is probably not possible. A jet sled fits, but you will struggle with anything wider. The kids did some fishing out in front of the cottage by carrying their equipment down, but for our trips onto the main Chaumont Bay we drove over to the state launch and left from there. Parking at the cottage is tight, with just enough room for 4 vehicles. The snow banks wouldn't allow for on-street parking of any additional vehicles.

Summary: Cottage was fully stocked. The house was big enough for a large family. Several games to keep the family busy on a rainy day. The host was great with communication. There was an issue with one of the showers and the host communicated immediately before we arrived to try and fix the issue. He did have to come back to work on the shower but was very polite to ensure he was not bothering us during our stay. The issue was resolved. Beds were comfortable. Are family had a good time. Close restaurants, ice cream stand. Great location to the Thousand Islands.

Summary: Booked what we thought was going to be an amazing place to stay with friends & family for the weekend , first and foremost the ad says free cancellation, which is false because I was contemplating cancelling a month out but would lose my 1000 deposit , so we didn’t cancel, So after going back and forth with travel agent with questions we asked about central ac and then were told Ac units only in bedrooms , which was a big NO for me as it’s the first week in Aug and humid AF !!!!! So that was misleading in the ad . When we arrived at the cottage it was so stale and hot humid inside , instantly so I was so disappointed and mad ! I would have never rented a house for 3000 a week with no damn ac in the main areas , we were told there were fans , ha one little fan in the kitchen . The house was so damp and musty and then !!!!! The water at the doc was so filled with seaweed the kids couldn’t even move on the boogie boards and our boat struggled getting in and out of the bay and dock each time !!! Morning two I get a text from owner asking us to not have camp fires any longer because the Neihbor is apparently allergic to camp fire smell , “ we specifically asked about fires”because we like to have them !! The bathroom doors looked almost everyone in them and the upstairs shower doesn’t drain and isn’t suitable for a grown human , you had to duck to be under the shower head !! The rooms all had trip hazards at every entry and caused many trips and stubbed toes , I want to say the view was amazing but nope , over grown weeds blocking the view , we couldn’t even see our boat from the deck .. I could go on but those are the major things that I’m very disapointed about
