Positive: The host was lovely. I enjoyed talking with her and the breakfast was terrific. The property is also beautiful though we did not get a chance to walk around it. I appreciated the mini-split AC/Heater which let us control the temperature. The bed was comfy and the sheets were soft. If you like the charm of an older home and an antique feel, you will really like this place.

Negative: The bed required a two-step stool which made me uncomfortable knowing that I would likely need to get up in the middle of the night. The bathroom was not very nice. There was dirt or mold around the caulking and the shower was tiny. Also, it took a long time to get some warm water. In addition, nearly as soon as I walked into the room, my nose stuffed up, probably due to the carpeting. If I owned this property, I would spend some time and money touching up knicks and paint. Overall, the building was just not in great shape. Even some of the chairs in the dining room had big lumps in the center.

Summary: Lovely, older home with a great host and nice breakfast. Could use some TLC.

Positive: The old-fashioned decor, plush furniture and bedding, shelves of books about travel, animals, the Civil War, etc, a fire going in the fireplace so the room was warm, all were appealing. The peaceful surroundings and views were nice. Breakfast included extras like fruit and lemon cake.

Negative: I would have liked brighter lighting for reading the books.

Summary: It's a very cozy place to stop and relax on a trip across Pa.
