Negative: Rooms were far too hot and could use a/c overnight as it was far far too noisy to sleep. Food in the italian restaurant was way overpriced for quantity and quality.

Negative: Underwhelmed steak, very bad peppercorn sauce, noisy atmosphere in the restaurant and the table we were, was damaged and dangerous to get cut.

Positive: Room & beds very comfortable & breakfast was brilliant.

Negative: When we arrived we checked in & went up to room the card wouldn’t open the door, cleaner tried to sort it for us but receptionist staff asked us to go back down to reception to sort it out, it took about 1hr to sort & as we were only staying 2 nights wasn’t great.

Negative: This is the only hotel anywhere in the world where housekeeping could not make up a room despite it being empty from 7.00 am until 3.30 pm. Returning after a day‘s golf, it was not ready. A request to the front desk that it be made up after 7.15 pm and an afternoon post golf snooze was obviously not communicated to the staff, who woke me three times later that afternoon wanting to get in to clean. A colleague checking in the previous day had to wait the best part of an hour after the 16.00check-in time to get his room. I had, accidentally, booked a disabled room. No problem in itself. However, the bathroom floor flooded as the shower curtain is not long enough to contain the water. The shower itself had, oddly, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion bottles attached to the wall. No shampoo. In fact no shampoo was provided at all in the bathroom. Despite it being a ground floor room facing the hotel entrance, there were no net curtains or blinds - only heavy drapes. Consequently either the room was blacked out or visible to people coming and going through the front door of the hotel. The reception and concierge staff generally had a somewhat lackadaisical attitude, for example a taxi requested for 19.15 was actually booked for,19.30 0n Saturday evening. For a hotel in this price category where one might expect American levels of service it was disappointing.

Summary: Should have been better.
