Summary: Wonderful stay at Hotel MacDonald. The room was spotless, spacious and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and gracious. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub as well. Highly recommend staying here!

Summary: The exterior and public areas of the hotel are quite splendid. The room is very generic - nothing out of the ordinary. I found the lighting to be quite poor in our room. The bathroom is large and modern and well-appointed. Towels, toiletries etc were plentiful and of good quality. The bed was comfortable but the linens were either not well sized or not properly put on the bed; I woke up with the duvet uncovered from the sheets in which it was qrapped, and the bottom sheet and mattress cover crumpled under my feet. Not really much space in the public parts of the hotel to sit and relax, unless you have reservations in one of the restaurants. Overall it was a perfectly fine hotel, but I'm not sure the rooms live up to the glamour of the building.

Summary: Staff were excellent. Service was top notch. Room was very clean. I always forget these old Fairmont properties are small and the bathrooms are minuscule. River view was great but I wish the hotel would have informed me of the construction and jackhammering outside my window at 8am until 5pm. Very hard to work in the room.
