Positive: Loved the homely feel, the Aga oven, never used one before, but as it always being ready to go, was amazing. The four double bedrooms was just what we needed for our all adult party. The slightly wonky floors and stairs are just full of character. As for the gardens, beautiful and the outlook the the hills, we even had great weather, but I know you can't book that! We went shooting up at Michael Coates, which was a brilliant experience, as was the alternative afternoon tea, huge so go hungry! So much do to a short drive away, and straight from the door we did a lovely walk (with the help of an ordinance survey app) did go a bit wrong, but got back. Awesome time had by all, thanks.

Negative: No usb sockets to charge phones and tech! Just take your own, but wish I had known beforehand, although a quick Amazon order, had some the next day!

Positive: What a privilege to stay in such a beautiful old house! It felt like a very special place to be, perfect for celebrating my mum’s 70th birthday. Coming in from the cold and standing in front of the Aga was a bonus.

Negative: Staying away from home with a baby and a five year old will always have it’s challenges, the extreme creakiness which adds to the charm of such a historic property did create a bit of kids bedtime stress, but that was the only negative I can think of and it would not put me off staying again.

Summary: Perfect house for our stay, we will definitely come again! Thank you x
