Summary: I should like very much like to visit again. Stairs, no lift, but I managed. breakfast was the usual modern boring buffet, with weak coffee, but satisfying. Dinner, on the other hand, was fantastic, with plenty of choices. Wish I had booked for more than two days.....hope to be back some time.

Summary: Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location. Beautiful beach in front of hotel. Kitchen sink, burners, fridge - mini kitchenette. Lovely view of the beach and the cliffs from the front room. Lovely gardens for the back rooms. Negatives - No Wi Fi service in the rooms - had to stay on first floor in back of restaurant for any reception; rather poor breakfast offerings - bland yogurt - neither sour nor sweet; canned juices and fruit; far from ripe fresh fruit. The feta, olives and tomatoes were good, but how many times can one have salad for breakfast. Dinner was prix fixe including dessert - didn't go for it. A la carte dinner at Ammoudara Beach Hotel next door was very good. Bottom line - if the WiFi were good and the breakfast better, I would definitely go back

Summary: This is a safe, clean, friendly, well run hotel...well worth renting a car to get to but there are lots of things you can walk to from the hotel..great for couples, singles, people with and without children....the people are very friendly and go out of their way to make you welcome and accommodate your needs.

Summary: This hotel is a very good choice for the independent travellers who rent a car and intend to explore the east coast of Crete by car. As of May 2006, the hotel looked brand new: freshly painted inside and outside, new furniture in the room. The hotel has a small pool, very clean. Breakfast is not included so I opted for driving into town (Agios Nikolaos, see below). The room I stayed in was very large (it was probably an apartment): it had two large rooms with double beds, one balcony with a table and chairs, and a small cooking area (fridge, sink, stove and silverware). The bathroom was large and very clean. Minuses: this hotel probably has a solar water heating system so I only got lukewarm water after 8 pm and just cold water early in the morning (7 am). The hotel is in a small coastal village, right by the beach (but not *on* the beach, there's a highway that separates them). The hotel's beach is very small, but it looked ok to me. There's a convenience store right next door and two or three tavernas next to the beach. It's too far to walk to anywhere else so you do need a car or a moped. The small town of Agios Nikolaos is about 3 miles (5 km) north and in there you'll find all sorts of tavernas, cafes, shops etc. The views from the hotel and the beach are great. The gulf of Agios Nikolaos is surrounded by mountains so the whole area looks fantastic.
