Positive: High quality finishes and plenty of space. Very clean and well set up for taking dogs.

Negative: The access arrangements, particularly having to pay for family to briefly drop by over the festive period, really didn’t suit our family.

Positive: The location is perfect as you are surrounded by beautiful countryside but all the local amenities and everything you need is only 5-10 minutes away.

Positive: The grounds and the wildlife were amazing with plenty of different birds to listen to. Located close to good attractions with good walking from the door. A lovely place to stay with friendly helpful hosts. Clean, spacious and modern interior with plenty of hot water and good light from the many windows. Pet friendly.

Negative: My elderley parents found the dining stools a bit hard. It would have been easier for them if there was something in the bedroom to put your case / bag on. We found the duvets were very warm. These are only minor points though and they wouldn't put us off going back as we really enjoyed our stay in such a unique property.

Summary: A truly wonderful stay - we even had fantastic weather!

Positive: A gorgeously decorated character building set in a beautiful country estate in the English countryside. Perfect for a little getaway to enjoy a piece of the english countryside in Bedfordshire. The location is perfect for little walks into the nearby villages for a bite to eat at the numerous country pubs, to visit the cute little boutiquey shops or just to enjoy the beautiful countryside and buildings. The cottage had been beautifully decorated in a fresh and modern country feel but has tastefully respected the age and history of the building. The kitchen is well kitted out for the keenest of chefs with a big Aga style oven and all modcons. The cottage accommodates a family comfortably with a little bedroom for 2 on the second floor with its own little tv. This was perfect for our family, giving our older children a little space of their own to relax whilst on holiday. There was also a fantastic adventure playground outside the cottage, which kept all our children (11,9 & 4) entertained. The grounds on the estate are beautifully kept and we could have easily stayed longer to enjoy more time there walking around the lake, enjoying watching the ducks and birds and appreciating the nature. The accommodation is set about an hr from London so ideal if you want to stay in the countryside but still enjoy what London has to offer.

Negative: Very hard to find anything that we didnt like but given we were the first people to stay at the recently renovated and finished cottage there is still plenty of opportunity for the owners to add small details that could make one's stay even more fantastic such as some guide books of what to do in the local area, walking routes, the best places to eat etc.. and maybe some coasters could be added for hot drinking mugs to avoid marking their beautiful wooden table and coffee table 😊
