Dar Zitouna exudes discreet glamour – it is an idyllic place to unwind and relax. The villa has been beautifully interior designed and our original villa (in very much the same style and taste) appeared on a BBC interiors programme.
Dar Zitouna has 5 ultra-comfortable bedrooms (with either twin or kings sized beds) in the main house, combining European comfort with Moroccan chic. There is also a pool house with a further king size bedroom. Each bedroom comes with a dressing area, en-suite bathroom, a terrace and aircon/heating.
Our comfy and inviting sitting room has sumptuous sofas and armchairs with a roaring log fire for those occasional chilly nights. This leads to a dining room, also with a fireplace.
Outside our large and luxurious private pool is set in sizeable sub-tropical gardens. It has a heavenly shaded terrace, perfect for unwinding and dining, as well as two other stunning covered terraces, perfect for just chilling-out and relaxing.
Guests are looked after by our talented cook, Zahria, who makes breakfast (included in the price) and lunch and dinner too (her cheese soufflés are sublime) - there is also a full time maid (a second is provided for 8 or more guests). In charge, our wonderful House Manager, Mustapha, speaks fluent English and can arrange all transfers, car hire, golf trips, and excursions to the Mountains and Marrakech etc. Dar Zitouna is part of the exclusive Bab Adrar development just 25 mins from central Marrakech and comes with 24-hour security, shared Hammam and clay tennis court. The pool can be heated (extra cost Spring/Summer). This villa is not self catering.

Summary: Our family met here for our annual holiday. We age from 10 years to 89..and from all over the globe so we needed somewhere we could all enjoy..and this ws definately it! The Villa is beautiful, nicely spread out and many rooms to choose to relax in..from inside to outside..We did spend most of our time outside by the Pool..but also had wonderful evenings on the upstairs terrace and about the house. The staff were so hospitable; Nadia ensured we had what we needed, and was about if we had questions..without feeling they were on top of us. We had a choice of excursions..and decided to alternate days out with the villa..as hard to leave the place..We got a guided tour of the Market, drove out to Beduin House as well as Richard Bransons Retreat for lunch (a greta scenic drive of the area..in the Atlas Mountains)..some also went Dune Buggy driving..and thoroughly enjoyed. A truly wonderful family break in a gorgeous place ..made it very hard to leave....

Summary: Rarely do we return to a location twice, with so many other wonderful places in the world to visit. However Dar Zitouna is in a different league, it was every bit as special as our first visit and this is in no small part due to the fantastic staff, Mohamed, Nadia, Zahira, Hussain and the latest addition to the team Aisha. The villa is truly exceptional and combined with the amazing staff this makes for a truly memorable holiday, Although this was March we enjoyed many sunny days on the roof terrace, ideal location for breakfast with amazing views to the mountains, followed by some time doing nothing by the pool but reading and swimming. On the slightly cooler days Nadia would light the fire to warm and create a wonderful atmosphere in the house. As our previous visit we enjoyed Zahira's cooking for all of our stay and washed down with some rather nice red wine this was a great way to spend an evening. Mohammed would always bring some mint tea after the evening meal and this was the perfect way to wind down before retiring to our room. The villa has the perfect combination of understated luxury, combined with an amazing location, with a staff that are second to none. It really is one of our great holiday locations and it will probably be visited again before too long.

Summary: We had a fantastic stay at Dar Zitouna for four days in late May 2015. After our stay at one of the smaller houses in the complex last year, we knew what to expect and were not disappointed. Dar Zitouna is clearly the best house in the complex - large, beautifully designed and with the best views over the Atlas mountains. It was so nice to return to this lovely bit of Morocco. Zahira's cooking was once again excellent and satisfied a range of dietary requirements (from vegetarians to exacting 2 year olds). Mohammed was also extremely helpful with all of our needs and organised a half day trip to Imlil for us. The pool was, as expected, a key part of our stay and the clever design with shallow steps proved to be a real blessing for the little ones still learning how to swim. All in all a great stay and highly recommended.

Summary: We have just returned from a week at Dar Zitouna, the villa is simply stunning, high quality furnishings, combined with great style and comfort. The exceptional staff on site create a fantastic holiday. The villa is only 30-40 mins from Marrakech, which we enjoyed for an afternoon with a visit to the medina but its so very easy to relax at the villa, laze by the pool, read a book all the time enjoying the excellent discreet service led by Mohamed the house manager assisted by, Zahira, Nadia and Hussain. The views to the Atlas mountains are breathtaking and we never tired of the view, it formed a fantastic backdrop to our meals which we always took outdoors on the terrace facing the pool and mountains. As we wanted a relaxing holiday we took full advantage of the wonderful meals provided by Zahira the cook, the taste and quality was absolutely first class we particularly enjoyed the soufflés, quiches and tagines. The icing on the cake is undoubtedly the staff, they ensure that no problems arise and their ability to perfectly anticipate our requirements was uncanny, whether it was drinks by the pool or on the terrace, to wonderful tasty breakfasts. Nadia was always on hand to ensure the villa was kept immaculately clean. The villa is wonderfully spacious and can easily accommodate 4 or 5 couples for us it was like having your own private boutique hotel, the rooms are wonderfully furnished. For anybody looking for a perfectly relaxing holiday, with the option of easy assess to all that Marrakech offers, whilst enjoying luxurious accommodation and being looked after by attentive staff this would take some beating. Summary: I have just returned from a three night stay at Dar Zitouna and felt I had to write to say how exceptionally beautiful the house and its location is. The house is set at the foot of the Atlas Mountains with beautifully manicured and established gardens flowing out to green plains with a breath-taking backdrop of the Atlas Mountains. The house itself has been thoughtfully decorated and furnished, providing an authentic Moroccan feel, combined with luxurious bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas. It is all beautifully maintained. The staff that work at the house were exceptionally helpful and organised all the transport that we required both to and from the airport and into Marrakech. There was an ample choice on the menu, ranging from Moroccan cuisine to more familiar English dishes. Everything that we were served was delicious and freshly cooked. I can find no fault in anything that we experienced during our stay and would thoroughly recommend this to anyone wanting to experience the hustle and bustle of Marrakech, safe in the knowledge that when you have done this, you can return to a peaceful and luxurious retreat.

Summary: I can honestly say this is the the most gorgeous holiday house I have ever stayed in. It is better than a luxury, boutique hotel. Dar Zitouna has been stunningly designed (it combines English elegance with Moroccan chic) and has been furnished by the owner with so much care and love, making it incredibly comfortable without being stuffy. We felt from arrival so relaxed here, it really was like home but far nicer. The staff really make it extra special, Mohammed just couldn't have done more for us. From collecting us from the airport, taking us into Marrakech which is an easy 20-25min drive. He showed us where to go. Booked and took us to the best restaurants and really made our stay so perfect. However, the best food we ate all holiday was at home. Zahria the resident cook makes the most delicious meals at very reasonable prices - we ate like Kings and there really was no need to travel elsewhere. The villa's gardens are just heavenly and tranquil (such a contrast from the crazy Medina in Marrakech!) and so good to come back to. The views over the stunning Atlas mountains left you speechless. We had some super nights on the beautiful outdoor terrace - staring at the stars and drinking sundowners. I don't think I've ever slept so well and on such comfy beds. We will definitely be returning and I can't recommend Dar Zitouna more highly.. I just wish I was there now!!

Summary: We had a great week at the end of May 2014. The house was fabulous, clean, beautifully decorated and all that had been described. The pool was cold but the young (20 yr olds) didn't seem to mind as much as the oldies. We were looked after extremely well by the staff of 3 including a cook. I would definitely go back if I was looking for that kind of break again.
