Positive: Location is excellent, very central (however quiet) in a lovely 3 storey heritage building. Three storeys with different living areas provide space to relax. We liked having a variety of real, leaf teas + teapots, as well as coffee facilities. The staff responded to our requests, after initial slowness in answering queries.

Negative: A lack of responsiveness initially to our queries & an automated communication system which repeatedly requested access to passports before check in. There was no Information booklet with details of access code, wifi & other fundamentals - these were provided online just before check in. The stairs need handrails on both & the gap at the top of stairs can be a real trip hazard. Likewise step down into bathroom should be indicated. The bedroom is really geared towards couples & not those wishing to have twin beds- this could be improved. Better crockery for 2-3 people eg normal sized plates & bowls would be an improvement.

Summary: Great location I’m heritage building which could be even better with some minor enhancements.

Positive: The house is beautiful and the location is very convenient. Thank you for the ginger!

Negative: I was travelling with a colleague (so not on intimate terms!) and we had been led to believe that there were two bedrooms. Actually there was one bedroom with one very large bed and one very small one. In the end, my colleague slept on the sofa in the living room. The bedroom was rather cold, but other colleagues reported the same in other Leeuwarden hotels, so it seems to be the norm! We could not find any wifi.

Summary: Lovely house for a couple who can keep each other warm. The stairs are steep.

Positive: We loved it. A really beautiful, warm, cosy and comfortable gem in the heart of Leeuwarden, which I hadn't previously realised was so beautiful. The guesthouse is an old building, I presume a traditional townhouse, on three levels. It is beautifully appointed and decorated so that it hugs you. We loved the artisan touches, especially the soaps and delicious tea selection. I did not meet the owners, but they were very responsive and helpful to my few questions.

Negative: There was nothing I didn't like. My only observation would be that it was perfect for the two of us, but I'm not sure how well it would accommodate more adults if they had large suitcases.

Positive: Location and comfort. We were in Leeuwarden for a specific event. So long as you pay for extras you get what you hope for. The residence is very nice although the decor is a bit odd. Our stay was a single night and we only asked for early check-in, which we did get. The experience is all highly impersonal. An easy way to NHL Stenden for graduation ceremony. An easy walk to restaurants in the evening.

Negative: It was all fine. There were no issues with keypad access. We happened to see the manager as she walked past with her dog while we entered. Limited value for the price.

Negative: NB: These only apply as I was travelling with my 5 year old! As there was an event happening in the plein nearby it was quite noisy in the evenings. And the stairs are quite tricky to get down, my kid spent the weekend sliding down them on her bum. But I only wanted to mention this for other families with small children. Otherwise Rozenboom was perfect!

Summary: Really relaxing, loads of space and a perfect location!
