Positive: Large apartment, walking distance (15 minutes) to the churches and cathedrals of the Old Goa, hot water 24/7, quiet. Very friendly and helpful owner.

Negative: In spite of a considerably larger choice of lodging in a neighboring Panaji, we decided to stay in Old Goa so that we could walk to the Karmali train station the next day. According to the address in booking.com, it was supposed to be a 12-minute walk. Unfortunately, the address was incorrect. We ended up staying more than 30 minutes away from the station, and as we were told at a neighboring hotel, there is no way to order or to catch a taxi, Uber, or a tuk-tuk (unlike lots of taxis in Panaji), so if you do not have your own transport, walking on a very busy road with no sidewalk for more than half an hour in a high heat and humidity is the only option to get to the train station. Apparently, this apartment is not frequently used by other guests. When we came there, there was a lot of dust everywhere. The bed sheets didn't look clean, whether not changed after previous guests or just covered with dust after being not used for a long time. We asked them to be changed, and the owner immediately did it. The apartment has a lot of spider web everywhere, and we saw many spiders. Actually, two types - the one with a tiny body and long thin legs (please see the attached photo of one of them), and another one with shorter legs, larger body, and very fast, so - no photos. But it's necessary to admit that spiders never looked threatening, just doing their business quietly. There are two bedrooms in the apartment, but unfortunately only one of them (the one we used) has AC, and the other one has just a ceiling fan which wouldn't help much with high humidity. Prior to this apartment, we stayed in India only in inexpensive hotels, which were rather comfortable. This was our first night at an Indian apartment. And definitely the last one.
