Positive: Real attention to detail. The eco-lodges were designed with a lot of thought put into it. Great location. Loved the shells being used for water taps in washbasin and shower.

Positive: The hotel with a very well designed concept. The rooms are open (the bed is protected by a mosquito net), no air conditioning only fans. There are different animals on the territory, in the evening from the beach you can watch a beautiful sunset. Many different activities are available (kites, paddleboards, etc). For me to live in such close to nature was a new experience - as the huts have not completely closed walls, you can hear all the sounds around, especially it was impressive in a thunderstorm. In addition, there were fireflies hovering right above the bed at night. At the same time the hut was quite comfortable (the roof did not leak, there was no threat to wet your belongings), I really liked the shower in the garden - lack of hot water was not a problem, as the air temperature during the day is on average +30, so the water warms up during the day to a comfortable temperature. If you love nature and not scared by the lack of some facilities (like air conditioning), this hotel is a great option. However, the stairs to the first floor of the hut can be a problem for people with serious knee problems. The food in the hotel is quite good, prices are at a normal level, comparable to other restaurants for tourists (with European dishes on the menu).

Negative: A bit of a strange situation happened at check out, I went to breakfast by the start, I wanted to pay off all the bills as the driver was due to come for me. When paying I said that I was planning to go back to the room and that I hadn't finished packing my luggage. When I finished breakfast, my driver had arrived and my bags and shoes were already in the boot. I had to change my shoes literally in the sand on the road near reception, had to open my suitcase in the car boot and then carry a bag of slippers in the sand with me for a few more days. This spoilt the impression of the place, it felt like they just threw me out of the room as quickly as possible

Negative: The "chalets" are open to the outside, so anyone can jump in. There is no AC or hot water (no hot water is fine during the heat of the day, but it can be a bit chilly if you shower later in the evening). The heat is unbearable during the day and in the evening, with no place to get away from the heat, flies and mosquitoes. Even though the chalets are open to the outside, not enough air comes in and they are very stuffy, dark and hot ! Water leaked through the ceiling and into our bed during a downpour. It can be very noisy at night (donkeys calling, muezzin singing from the nearby mosque, fireworks, singing etc.). The staircase leading to the bedroom is quite steep (not suitable for older or less fit people). The food is bland compared to other places in Sri Lanka (very western oriented). I love sleeping in nature, but when I pay this amount of money for a 4 star resort, I expect to have a certain amount of security, comfort, and air conditioning. The place is much more expensive than others in the area. Overall, it's just not worth it.

Summary: Disappointing. The overall value for money is poor.

Positive: Excellent for kite surfing and wind foiling. Lovely comfortable villa with great views over to the kite surfers on the lagoon. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Negative: We originally booked a tree house, but when we arrived, we realised that the very steep access steeps to the sleeping area meant that it was unsuitable for two not so young travelers. The staff were excellent and arranged for us to stay in a villa.
