The Glow Room at Indian Hollow is a history-rich 1850 post & beam barn, renovated in a light-filled, post modern style.
Imagine getting out of your car, opening the screen door to a big porch that overlooks a leaping mountain brook, deep enough to dunk in. Then pass through the strap-hinged front door and into a glowing pine-paneled great room with giant windows, a big wood stove, 3 Chesterfield couches, dining area and kitchen. You see the forest all around you, but you're inside, ready to unwind.
Upstairs, the loft features the master bedroom (sleeps 2, queen) and a reading/games room (can sleep 2, futon).
Walking into the ell, you pass the bathroom, the 'room with no purpose,' and the guest bedroom (sleeps 2, futon) which opens onto the back deck, where the barbecue is, and the sound of the leaping waters.
In summer the lawn is thick and lush, and you are surrounded with pines, birches, maples and mountains. Chauncey Brook forms the east border & offers a serene and ferny welcome; overlooking it, there's a beautiful firepit surrounded by log benches. The southern border is the Dead Branch Brook with its refreshing plunge pools.
About a 1/4 mile downstream it joins the East Branch of the Westfield River, a federally-designated 'Wild and Scenic River.' We will provide you with maps and information about the area, which contains extraordinary opportunities for picnicking, fishing, hiking, biking, swimming, x-country skiing, snow-shoeing, photography and painting. And being alone, with someone you want to be alone with.
This property is designed to inspire the maximum enjoyment of the 15+ square miles of open space that begins at its doorstep. The Glow Room is a launching pad.

Summary: We booked a very needed, very last-minute weekend in this cozy yet spacious cabin in the woods. You can tell from the guest book overflowing with stories (and illustrations!), the found river rocks adorning many corners of the cabin and the vintage and vintage-looking decor and lighting choices that this place is well-loved. The pictures barely do it justice. We can’t wait to come back and explore in the summer when the brook comes alive again. Thank you Robbie for accepting our last-minute booking!! We loved the Glow Room and we left glowing.

Summary: We loved staying in the beautifully equipped rustic and modern home! Waking up every morning surrounded by trees and sunlight was breathtaking. My family of three was so at home, we didn’t want to leave! I’d recommend coming with all your supplies (food etc.) so you don’t have to go town unless you really want to. The 30 minute trek to town and to get cell service was a little tricky for us being new to the areas, but so worth it to enjoy the beauty of nature and wilderness at the cabin. We enjoyed visiting the nearby towns of East Hampton & Northampton too!

Summary: We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cabin. The place is gorgeous and comfortable, and the setting was stunning, with the stream across the road and great walking trails right out the front door. Unfortunately, the battery in our car died while we were there, and Robbie was incredibly helpful. She drove us to a rental place so we could salvage the rest of the weekend. We were so thankful! We would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a quiet and peaceful stay.

Summary: It’s an overworked word, I know, but I can’t think of a better way to describe the many discoveries and unexpected beauties this property offers. The cabin is as cozy and lovely as the photos show, and unusually well-appointed for a rental. The forest and water and wildflowers that surround it are even better. I loved the remote location, too.

Summary: Wow, where to start? Staying in your cabin was a highlight of our trip to the area to tour colleges with our teens. Yes, the cabin is not super close to the colleges & yes, the cabin had no wi-fi or phone service for us, but still, we would stay here again in a heartbeat & whole heartedly recommend it to others who don’t mind trading a lack of connectivity to gain time in this homey cabin where every detail is so thoughtfully considered and to have all the wonderful, uncrowded nature right outside your door.

Summary: We had one of the most beautiful experiences of our lives at the magical waterfall nearby this little house (accessible only by an interesting 30' hike). The Glow room itself was nice inside- clean and airy, and the beds were comfortable I was disappointed that there was no screened in outdoor space to hang out (there is a front porch, but it is not kept up well or furnished to relax). But if you like to hike, and love a babbling brook, then the location is a joy.

Summary: Once we figure out how to get in and that internet and phone were a way off top of hill 1/2 mile away from house we adjusted and enjoyed the peace and quiet I should have researched this listing more thoroughly only 1 bathroom on 2nd floor made it prohibiting for someone my age who gets up frequently to use the bathroom other than those issues it was fine
