Positive: We really appreciated being able to bring our dog with us, as pet-friendly accommodation in New Plymouth was quite scarce during ANZAC weekend. The spa bath was a fantastic feature, and we also loved the cupboard stocked with extra dog blankets and bowls. The frozen lasagna was a thoughtful addition, particularly helpful when we were hungry late at night and many restaurants in Bell Block were closed for the holiday.It was such a cozy place to stay, and we loved the energy in the house, which pays homage to the owner's South African heritage.

Positive: Ekhaya is the Zulu word for home and Liz and Mike ensire the holiday home feels like home. Ekhaya is clean, comfortable and a stones throw from the beach. Take away and groceries are not too far away and would be an easy enough walk should you feel inclined. If I go to New Plymouth again, this would be my first call for accommodation.

Positive: We have stayed at this location before and chose it again because we liked everything about it - the location (very close to shops and beach and other locations of interest). Lookout (view) is of the Taranaki walkway beside the coast, so lots of Pohutukawa trees coming into bloom and SO many birds. Our hosts we had met before and again, friendly, helpful and made us feel very comfortable. Thoughtful touches like the large bottle of milk in the fridge, food in the freezer and chocolates. So clean. The garden is wonderful and enclosed by a high fence giving us total privacy. I was quite excited by the electronic gate opener.

Negative: I cant think of anything that could have been better.

Summary: It felt like a home away from home.

Positive: Everything was lovely, the fact the owners had made some easy frozen meals for their guests is very kind.

Negative: If there was a laundry area installed, but not a biggy as their is laundry facilities down the road.

Positive: Spacious and comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped. Good access to coastal path. While its a way out from New Plymouth access to Taranaki via Egmont and Stratford was reasoanbly easy without having to go through New Plymouth. While next to the airport, it wasn't noisy.

Negative: We had expected the house to be fully detached rather than attached to the owners house - but that said, there was relatively little noise.

Summary: Spacious, comfortable and well equipped.

Positive: Nice and cosy accommodation - very useful have a fully fenced property for our two dogs to enjoy. Great having the log burner, and lots of nice little touches like the chocolates.

Negative: Nice place, just be aware only off street parking for one vehicle and is quite tight. But otherwise great.
