Positive: Our hosts were so helpful and friendly. The house was immaculate and comfortable as well as having interesting art and an African theme. All facilities were in perfect working order. It was not surrounded by other houses but looked out over the Coastal Walkway which was easily reached from the house. The garden was a delight with friendly birds. This is the 3rd time we have booked this home so that gives an indication...

Positive: This was a lovely bright and sunny property with everything we needed for our three night stay. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen and bathroom were well set up and very clean. The cottage was bathed in afternoon sun with a lovely outdoor area and gorgeous garden, and was only 5 minutes walk to Bell Block Beach. We would definitely recommend this property to others. Thank you.

Negative: Not much! As tea drinkers, it would be nice not to have to use a plastic kettle, and the inner bedroom was a little noisy from the adjoining main house sometimes.

Positive: It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The fire place cranks out amazing heat. So many lovely little touches, especially a cupboard of doggy treats, toys and blankets. Also a beautiful little garden!

Positive: Lovely to have chocolates waiting on arrival. The fire kept us warm and cosy and pumpkin soup in the freezer was delicious! Very safe and secure and great space for a dog. So close to the beach and also a nice walk along the stream. Little shopping centre very close by as well.

Positive: We really appreciated being able to bring our dog with us, as pet-friendly accommodation in New Plymouth was quite scarce during ANZAC weekend. The spa bath was a fantastic feature, and we also loved the cupboard stocked with extra dog blankets and bowls. The frozen lasagna was a thoughtful addition, particularly helpful when we were hungry late at night and many restaurants in Bell Block were closed for the holiday.It was such a cozy place to stay, and we loved the energy in the house, which pays homage to the owner's South African heritage.

Positive: Ekhaya is the Zulu word for home and Liz and Mike ensire the holiday home feels like home. Ekhaya is clean, comfortable and a stones throw from the beach. Take away and groceries are not too far away and would be an easy enough walk should you feel inclined. If I go to New Plymouth again, this would be my first call for accommodation.
