Positive: I like the atmosphere of the property and rooms.

Negative: Shower heads need to be cleaned felt like needles getting under the water because the pressure of the water blasting through calcified holes in the shower head. When I called I asked if the bar outside was open I was told yes but there were no events because it was too hot. That was inaccurate It was closed.

Summary: The staff was friendly and professional. Rooms were clean. Amenities sucked

Positive: The room was great, the bar and pool were cool. Within walking distance to some good please to eat and drink. Good price compared to many other places in downtown Phoenix.

Negative: Check in/out was strange. The office is attached to a busy restaurant, and having no idea who works where made check in a bit awkward. The out door area was a bit abandoned during our stay, felt slightly more like a photo opportunity than a comfortable place to hang out.

Positive: Great decor and very comfortable bed. Excellent location and Chilte restaurant is superb. The retro fittings are superb.

Negative: Door to room did not close and lock easily from outside. Needed a slam.

Summary: Excellent stay in a quirky hotel with excellent decor and ambience.

Positive: We enjoyed the ambiance and the location . Very close to downtown.

Negative: Would have liked to know about the loud event going on before I booked this hotel, didn’t mind it much but it is definitely not a quiet hotel when there is an event going on.

Positive: It was in a good location for my needs. The room was clean, bed was comfortable. and shower worked fine. The rooms and hotel in general are 'long in the tooth' but decorated in a funky retro look that made it fun to be there. The front desk was a window but they had good beer available at all times. The house restaurant, Chilte, was excellent but pricey. There is a MacDonald's down the street but I wouldn't recommend going there. I was expecting it to be noisy at night based on other reviews and the ear plugs they provide bedside but it wasn't noisy at all during my stay. My room was on the second floor. Downtown Phoenix has a big gap in hotels priced from $90 for sketchy motels to $300+ for name brands. This was somewhere in the middle and a little pricey for what it was but I would stay there again.
