Positive: Initially not impressed with facility. However, once settled in noted place was clean and located well. Staff was exceptional, the gentleman cleaning the rooms was very helpful.

Negative: Not much you can do, but there was not much close by. The retail strip across the street was virtually vacant. You had to get closer to the interstate to fine reasonable options for food. Being said, it was reasonably priced and close enough to amenities.

Summary: Was good enough for our needs.

Positive: Hotel was clean bed was comfortable we would stay here again

Negative: I made reservations for 2 people and they only give us one washcloth 2 towels 1 hand towel They were no dead bolt on the hotel room but door still locked . Hotel was a little run down, need to be updated.

Positive: Staff does a good job with what they're handed. Clean, tidy rooms with good linens that are replaced every day. Breakfast is hot and promptly set up in the morning, great value there. Not the most stunning buffet but they deliver on their promises. Location is GREAT -- only 5 mi from Shenandoah entrance, and it was a very quiet stay. Shocked by how quiet the stay was given the age of the building. Got good rest and easy access to the park.

Negative: Confusing hotel change / reservation policy. I had something change with my plans and I ended up only staying 2 nights but paid for 3. manager said it had to do with Booking.com policies, but it was unclear what my options were. Chiefly, though, the owners need to spend money renovating the property. My A/C smelled damp / like mold so it needed servicing. My room looked like a homeless / drug addict trashed it at one point -- fixtures pulled from the wall and (badly) patched, mystery stains on walls, holes punched in areas (also clearly patched). Again, the staff had cleaned it and clearly fixed it to the best of their abilities... but mgmt elected to not hire a professional to fix these things.

Summary: Rooms need TLC, but staff is good, cleans rooms and is responsive.

Negative: They advertise pet friendly but say nothing about additional charges for pets. Then spring a 20 dollar pet fee at check in. That is false pricing. If you are going to charge extra for pets it should say so when booking.

Summary: It was a crappy room for almost 90 bucks
