Positive: Beautiful historic home right on the shore of Bras d’Or. We were on the main floor in the most historic room which was spacious and comfortable. Across from us was the shared living room for reading in the evening and enjoying coffee in the morning sunshine. I was even able to do yoga there before breakfast. The staff was really nice, helpful and accommodating.

Negative: As mentioned, we were in the “historic” room. The bed was quite creaky with a soft mattress which was not ideal for me. The other rooms are more updated and the main suite is quite nice with a gorgeous ensuite.

Summary: Comfortable stay in a historic home in a beautiful setting.

Positive: Lovely location on the Bras d’Or lakes. Super convenient location, wihin walking distance of the Alexander Graham Bell Museum — a must-see. The breakfast offerings were ample and varied. Appreciated the outdoor electrical outlet for charging our car.

Negative: Wish we had booked the Lighthouse room for the water and lighthouse view!

Negative: Bed could have been more comfortable. Rm 5 Didn’t like the weeds for swimming.
