Positive: A very lovely cottage,- both cute and modern. There was a surprisingly spacious and bright kitchen that was a pleasure to sit in. We really appreciated the generous touches like leaving us tea , coffee, milk and biscuits. It make the experience a little more luxurious. Beautifully clean and smelling fresh and cared for. We would highly recommend this cottage -

Negative: The stairs, whilst cute, are steep and narrow, and with a very low head space.- not great for me, and even worse for my tall friend. If the bathroom hadn't been downstairs I might not have minded so much, but having to go to the loo in the middle of the night felt difficult. We struggled to get the TV and the DAB radios to work. On TV, we could get Iplayer etc, but not regular TV. And for the radio I ended up connecting it to my phone radio via Blue tooth . Daft, yes, - but it worked. We didn't get in touch with the owners because we were just so tired from walking, and stone carving all day. Maybe too tired to figure it out. We couldn't see any instruction manuals to talk us through things like the digital cooker, or the tv/radios, washing machine It didn't matter really to jus - we had fun .

Summary: A really lovely cute cottage - outstandingly clean, with modern features. Close to everything.

Positive: Beautiful character cottage. Immaculately clean and had everything you could need in the kitchen. Private and cute little garden with a BBQ. Larger inside than it looks from outside - like a Tardis! Very welcoming and lovely decor. Lots of character and very sympathetic extension and renovation to bring it up to standard. Location was very useful, opposite some shops/takeaways and a short drive to the coast/marina areas. The stairs are extremely narrow and the ceilings and doorways are quite low (which we loved as it was very quirky, and we loved the signs!) but may be tricky for larger individuals. Would love to go back again in Winter and make use of the snuggly log fire and cosy living room.

Negative: Parking can be a bit tricky in the evenings; we did find a parking space in the evening but it was a couple of minutes walk up the road. The mattress in the main bedroom was a tad soft, which normally aggravates my back but surprisingly, I slept like a log, and awoke ache free, so I suppose it's not a negative as such.

Summary: Cosy, characterful and welcoming family cottage in central Portland. Perfect for a joyful visit!

Positive: The code was provided by the hosts meaning we could access the property without worrying about timings.

Negative: Due to the nature of property location it was a little inconvenient to unload our belongings as there are double yellow lines outside the property and the lay-by opposite was full meaning we had to carry luggage from a parking space down the road but we knew that before we booked

Summary: It was a lovely stay - we visited family and the cottage was central to them
