Positive: Location was beautiful - beside a little stream, with trees all around. Access is by a very narrow track with a right-angled bend. We were so glad we had a small car because a big one would not have made it down the track.

Negative: We are not used to woodburning stoves so were not able to make the most of it. (Not the fault of the host.) The access track was tricky to negotiate, both entering and driving. But plenty room to park and turn.

Summary: Delightful.

Positive: We loved everything about the cottage. It was well equipped in a quiet spot with lovely views near a superb pub serving excellent food. The Logburner was a great way to keep warm and heat our water. We also saw the Jacobite steam train pass above the garden.

Negative: Our only criticism was the rather small double bed with a footboard so my 6ft 3 inch husband found it rather short.

Summary: Delightfully quirky mix of modern and traditional.

Positive: Lovely cottage in a very quiet location. Plenty of room with a lovely log burner for cosy nights. Essentials of bread, butter and milk along witha tasty treat provided by the host. A red deer stag visited us every day and was lovely to see one close up.

Negative: The driveway down to the cottage was very narrow.

Summary: Cosy cottage close to the Harry potter train line and just a few minutes from the sea.

Positive: the cottage was sooo cosy.. had everything you need, plenty cosy lamps.. location was great for us as it was near where we wanted to be.. bed was comfortable... and the stag that visits daily was amazing.. he loves apples and carrots so bring some with you and he'll stay around for ages foraging and waiting for more..

Negative: only thing I didn't like was the tight driveway in but a car or small van carefully driven is easy enough.. otherwise nothing I didn't like..

Positive: Lovely cosy cottage with woodburning stove. Well equipped kitchen and nice little touches from host, like biscuits, coffee/ tea provided and milk and butter in fridge when we arrived. Good instructions sent in advance. Good location for outdoor activities like kayaking or walking.

Negative: Unfortunately the village Inn has closed down, so any chance of a meal or a pint meant at least a 15 min car trip.

Summary: Lovely wee gem of a cottage.

Positive: location was perfect for both mountains and beaches. Cottage itself is full of really nice touches, that make your stay extra comfortable Very spacious rooms and well stocked kitchen

Negative: The hot water from the stove boiler wasn’t very warm. had to use the immersion heater and boil the kettle a few times to get a comfortable bath
