Summary: My room didn't have hot water; I told them but it still wasn't fixed. Overall the building is old and worn, the rooms are nice, but the stair area is not too pleasant, the elevator is worn, very small and incredibly slow. You can hear lots of noise from the surrounding areas when in your room because, again, the building is old and noise isolation is poor. There was a fire alarm screeching in the evening, I told the receptionist and he said it's being looked into, and it did stop after a while, but another guest told me that it's a recurring issue. Overall I have the impression that they're trying, but the building is just kind of falling apart.

Summary: Overall ok, but it's an old building and they should invest in renovating windows (too much noise coming in) and they should have bigger black outs blinds. Mattress was sagging but unfortunately this is fairly common these days.

Summary: Nice accommodation if you need a place to stay the night before your cruise leaving from Dover. Right on the beach with a view to the white cliffs. Excellent breakfast buffet and nice bar on site.

Summary: Our room was a beautiful suite with a great view of the bay. The bathroom was beautifully updated BUT…. there was not water to put in that gorgeous tub. I must say a bus’s load of people came in about 6;30 so that was the problem. Dinner service was a little slow and the rib eye was not a good cut of meat and I ordered rare and got well done. They needed more help to serve all the people. They were working on the kitchen update so I guess that was a problem. One more thing, all the hall fire doors should be blocked open during the day because dragging three heavy suitcases through narrow heavy doors was not fun!!!!

Summary: Nice position. Main restaurant was being renovated. Food available in bar but that was very busy. Room needs improvements. All windows were screwed locked or could be opened by a very tiny bit. So we had to use the aircon instead of having the windows open. The towel rail heater could not be turned off. This was during the heatwave. So bathroom was like a sauna. Hotel staff helpful and friendly.

Summary: Decent overnight stay before cruise. Hotel is trying hard to bring it back to its once legacy status. A few mishaps but overall I would recommend especially for a night or two. Dover as a town is dying on the vine. Many locals said it has changed and being taken down very by others. Go see the Castle. Not much else to do unless you like shopping at secondhand stores.

Summary: The location of the hotel was perfect for us with a view of the sea and a short walk up to the explore the castle and cliffs. We had a clean, comfortable room with everything we needed to hand. The fridge was particularly useful. We took advantage of booking the breakfast which had a wide choice of hot and cold food. We would definitely recommend the hotel for a stay in Dover.

Summary: Spent one night prior to embarking on a cruise. Great location if cruising. Worth it to walk up the hill to visit the castle and tunnels. The hotel is a bit cramped, which is par for the UK and Europe. The room was nice, spacious, clean and comfortable. Room was quiet which was a nice surprise. Overall, a pleasant experience.
