Negative: No shades on velux windows, very light in the bedroom The door position is quite scary and dark and uneven underfoot

Positive: Very warm and cosy little cottage. Great for a winter getaway (we visited in November). Very close to shops and restaurants in Knaresborough and only a short walk to the train station. Easy links to York, Leeds and Harrogate. We travelled by train via York. Lovely village with beautiful old stone houses and of course the famous viaduct. I wanted to stay in York, but the prices were too high, so I booked this cottage. So glad I did, it was really lovely to escape the chaos of York on a very busy shopping weekend and discover this beautiful village.

Negative: The stairs are very steep and narrow - not a problem for us but just be aware if this is a problem for you.

Summary: Warm and cosy cottage. Modern and clean but with a bit of character.

Positive: The accommodation was really just what was needed.The milk, tea and coffee are nice touches. Perfect size and warm and comfy. Excellent position to walk into town. Got parked across the road and never moved it so no issues there.

Negative: I had asked for the freezer to be available but had to chip off 2 inches of ice. The bed is uncomfortable and I ended up with a large scratch and bruise from the sharp metal corner. A larger duvet would also help. Stairs are steep and the bannister could be better to help.

Positive: Lovely cosy space with lots of amenities. Great selection of utensils and nice little touches such as tea coffee and biscuits! Easy to find parking just across the road. Great location close to shops and the centre!

Negative: Everything was great only niggle is door/ lock is quite stiff making it a little tricky to unlock the door from the outside. Could hear a little noise form the road in the morning but not really an issue. I am a light sleep so use earplugs. Would definitely stay again.

Positive: Modern and clean. Finished to a high spec. Had everything you would need (cutlery draw is hidden in one of the kitchen cupboards) took a while for us to locate. Not to far from the market place. Would definitely recommend

Positive: It was warm, and comfortable nights sleeping.

Negative: Parking was a nightmare, over the road it was like parking on a building site. It was suggested you Gould park down the street but there were only 4 spaces and that was taken up by locals, it was also suggested to place a disk in your car that was provided for a 2 hour free parking in the town but they didn’t leave any, it would have been better that the owners had legal parking in the street behind the house. The two seater sofa wasn’t comfortable at all it was only good for short spells of sitting. The bathroom didn’t have any shelving to place toiletries etc near the wash basin, the shower didn’t have anywhere to put your shampoos conditioners and shower soaps, and it would have been good to have a window blind on the roof light as street lighting and the morning sun light came in through the window.

Summary: We stayed a week and that was to long for comfort, but we would still stay for a short 2/3 day break,

Positive: Great cottage and location, It had pretty much everything you needed, Bed was very comfortable.

Negative: The only thing I can say negative about it would be the stairs leading to the bedroom we're quite steep, Wasn't much of a problem for us but could be if you had mobility issues.
