Positive: We had a very pleasant stay at Don Polo CasaBoutique. Our hosts were very welcoming and attentive to what we might need during our stay. For an extra fee of $500 pesos they had kayaks available for rent which our family really enjoyed using over the weekend. The house has a lovely hammock hung between the trees where we could relax and read. We also enjoyed watching the sunset over the lagoon from the balcony while drinking a nice wine. Overall we would recommend Don Polo’s property and return again.

Negative: We had a little miscommunication on arrival that could have been avoided if instructions had been sent to us earlier in the day however our host went to great lengths to make amends and there are no hard feelings at all. It is useful to know that the property has an alarm system that the hosts monitor (this is a good thing) but it does sound off when you open and close the gate and the property shares with the hosts as they also have accomodation on site. This is to attend to guests needs such as kayak rental or to make a bbq etc. also note that the water in the lagoon is quite receded due to a drought (no fault of the hosts).

Positive: This property and the Host Don Leopoldo and His daughter Dhalia are all amazing. The place is big enough to comfortably receive 6 people. The rooms are clean and tidy and the facilities make for a perfect experience. We had a particular experience that deserves to be shared: One gut from our group decided to propose to his girlfriend during this trip. No one in the group knew anything about that until out very first night, he said "I will propose after (girlfriend) comes out of the shower"... without to much preparation. We convinced him to wait until next day and perhaps in the property the would be able to help us preparing something more special. Indeed the next morning we talked to Leopoldo and they went far beyond our expectations with the preparations, the place looked amazing with balloons, roses, messages and the fireplace. The perfect set up for a proposal. So this detail alone is a worthy 10, you can expect the best hospitality if you visit this place :)
