Summary: Lovely cottage full of character with truly amazing views which we all enjoyed although we were not blessed with good weather throughout. The cottage is well equipped so even when the weather isn't so good there's still plenty to enjoy. Husband and friends enjoyed several walks from the property. Getting up the drive in the car the first time was a bit scary so easier just to leave it parked as walking is definitely easier.

Summary: The location and this well-equipped, homely cottage made for the perfect stay. Our host Fiona couldn’t do enough to help answer questions and help us as our plans changed a little during the week. Five stars and we would love to stay at High Bield again sometime!

Summary: We had a great stay, big enough to not feel cramped, clean, warm, fantastic view and we saw red squirrels every morning! Very narrow steep drive so would bring a car with decent ground clearance to not hit the bash plate when driving over the water drain

Summary: We had an amazing mini break. The house was warm and homely with plenty of space for us and 5 kids and all the amenities we needed. The drive up the track was a bit challenging but the location was worth it, the views from the garden and windows are amazing. It was awesome starting each day watching the birds and squirrels in the garden. After long walks it was nice to sit around playing some of the many board games and checking out the impressive collection of books. The log burner was nice to have but the house was warm enough so we didn’t need to use it. As a base we found it very convenient and were able to explore all over the Lake District without ever having to travel too far. The host was friendly and very accommodating. We had a great time and would love to come and stay again.
