Summary: We stayed at Massimiliano's home for 6 weeks. This property is everything that is described and more. Massimiliano was extremely helpful in every way and reached out to local restaurants for reservations for us. The back yard was so relaxing especially with a glass of homemade red that Massimiliano provided for us. Thank you Massimiliano for making this an epic trip.

Summary: Such a special place. We felt right at home here. Last time and this time directly. The second time in this beautiful house, the time has flown by way too fast. Fortunately, we were able to book two extra days. But 9 days wasn't really enough either… We were never this relaxed as in La Querciaia. We will miss it terribly when we are back in the Netherlands. The large beautiful green garden with fantastic views and with all its nice seating areas, the lovely swimming pool and a favorite: the table tennis table. really an oasis of peace. Inside the house it is so wonderfully spacious and cozy. The bedroom with good air conditioning is very nice. We also gratefully made use of the more than complete kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher! We even baked a pie with lemons from the garden and eggs from the neighbor. Everything has been thought of, but really everything. Stuff for a day at the beach, a drying rack with pegs, a food processor, you name it and it's there. And then I forget the great pool table. I repeat myself, but you just don't enough much time here. Not only in and around the house, but also the surroundings are beautiful and there is plenty to discover. For example the river below in the valley or the ruins you can see from the bedroom. And then last but not least, the owner. You will not easily find such a host, perhaps even unique. And we also have the sweet dog in our hearts. Especially Sam will miss his little friend. Massimiliano does everything for his guests. We again enjoyed all the bread and goodies (cupboards are never empty on arrival), conversations and the tips he gave us. No goodbye for us as we will be back very soon!

Summary: I highly recommend this beautiful home. The host is very attentive. It is such a beautiful place to stay. We had breakfast on the terrace every morning with sunshine and palm trees and an incredible view of the mountains. Short drive to the sea. Kitchen stocked with everything you need for breakfast and even a bottle of wine! Plenty of space for the family and very clean. You will need a car or taxi to reach the home. Not accessible by public transportation.

Summary: The house and garden are really spacious and well equipped. We were warmly welcomed and provided with all needed advice and even some local specialties in the fridge. Even if it was not an issue during the time we were there, during the season the location being a bit off the big buzz is a plus for me. Definitively a recommendation!

Summary: Absolutely stunning villa - it far exceeded our expectations! The outside garden area is beautiful and we spent most days relaxing there not wanting to move. Massimilio is the nicest, kindest person you could ever wish to meet and very generous bringing us lots of different things to try. We were very sad to leave and just wish we had booked to stay for longer - a perfect holiday!!

Summary: Awesome house, all the pictures are true and the outside view is even more beautiful. The host is very kind and there to help you with everything. Fresh beverages, home made cake and some snacks were there on our arrival. He is a super host. Thank you again for a wondefull stay!

Summary: Our time was amazing and memorable at “La Querciaia”. Massimiliano is an amazing host who is very thoughtful and generous, and goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and at home. To our surprise we were welcomed with a delicious homemade cake. Massimiliano introduced us to the delights of local buffalo mozzarella cheese, fresh lemons from his trees on the property and local Calabria wine. The property is very clean and provides everything you could need. It has three good size bedrooms upstairs with amazing views of mountains and an old castle. The main floor provides ample room for dining, playing board games, and spending time together. The kitchen is fully furnished, clean and functional. All your cooking essentials were provided such as salt, sugar, spices, oil, coffee, etc. We loved the espresso coffee machine and the dishwasher! The wash machine and outdoor drying rack was appreciated with a young family. Outside is where we spent most of our time. It is set-up beautifully to relax and enjoy the surroundings. We loved the outdoor pool, ping pong and foosball table. Two different outdoor dining areas, BBQ, and a lovely covered sitting area – great spot to enjoy wine, Caprese Antipasto with fresh bread while taking in the beautiful scenery! Santa Maria del Cedro is a short jaunt to the beach (beach toys are provided) and town for supplies. A car is definitely needed for this area of Italy – my husband drove and it was a breeze compared to the Sorrento/Amalfi coast area. Santa Maria del Cedro is an ideal location to explore Calabria; with Maratea & Sapri to the north or Dimante or Paola to the south. Massimiliano provided great advice on where to shop, things to see and do with young children. The children adored his friendly dog “Clay” who was always happy to greet us! We were very sad to say goodbye and highly recommend La Querciaia for a family or 2-3 couples. Massimiliano went above and beyond when our daughter left behind a pair of earrings and he mailed them to us! Thank you Massimiliano & Clay for an amazing week!!

Summary: We had a wonderful stay at Massimilio's and were truly sorry to have to leave his wonderful home. The location is idyllic with very impressive views and a fantastically well equipped garden. We very much enjoyed breakfast outside, staring at the stunning views. We also found a very lovely beach south of Praia a Mare and liked discovering the region. Massimilio is the kindest and most delicate host one could wish for, and nothing is too much trouble to make his guests have a memorable experience, including introducing them to the local products. His house is wonderfully comfortable and one feels totally at home.

Summary: We spend an amazing month in La Querciaia 1946 in August 2017. The house was spotlessly clean and immaculately maintained with everything we could need for our stay. It is absolutely beautiful and tastefully furnished in country style. The pool was great for the kids and the private garden perfect to relax in. We loved the BBQ for evening cooking and there is plenty of space for us all to eat outside. It felt very private in the garden and views of the mountains are breathtaking. Massimiliano is simply the best host we ever met and such a nice person...He has done everything and more to make our stay memorable and special. He arranged for us to try different local produces during our stay and recommended great restaurants. He also organised a great boat trip for a day to see the caves along the beautiful coastline. At the end of our stay we felt that we are leaving a friend. We will miss you and Clay Russell family ( John, Oxana, Ocean, Savanna and Teddy)
