Elvezia La Specola is an apartment on the first floor of the historic building known in Chiavenna as "La Specola".
In the late nineteenth century, this characteristic house was built as a hotel and was given the name "Elvezia La Specola".
Our grandfather Giuseppe became the owner of the house in the early forties, and since then it has been our family home. The ground floor has now been converted into a great fresh pasta store and a well known Winery.
We wish to welcome you in the apartment facing south, which was completely renovated in 2015 and consists of a kitchen area and living room, a double room and another double room on the mezzanine, a bathroom with shower, and a terrace. We offer free Wi-Fi.
On the ground floor there is a laundry room. A communal courtyard is available for parking your car, as well as a common area garden.
Our house is centrally located, within walking distance from the station and the famous "Crotti". The ideal place to stay in Chiavenna and visit the montains and lakes in the area.

Summary: This was our second stay at this property in Chiavenna and it did not disappoint. The apartment is clean and close to everything. Communication and check in with the property owner is seamless. We arrived by train and the apartment is literally right near the train station. We will look forward to our next stay! Grazie Paolo!

Summary: The apartment in Chiavenna was perfect. Just about 50 yards from the train station, which was perfect because we arrived by train and we did don’t have a car. However, there is parking available. Close to hiking trails and many restaurants and shops. Paolo was great to deal with. Any questions we had, his response was prompt. We enjoyed our stay in Chiavenna and look forward to a return visit in the future and I would definitely look into staying at Paolo’s apartment again.

Summary: Everything is as stated in the listing; good beds, modern well-stocked kitchen, clean comfortable main room and bathroom, ample natural light with views over the station area and distant mountains. The apartment is perfectly positioned for exploring the surrounding villages with trails within a few minutes walk of the unit. I'd suggest guests book this apartment for at least five days (wished I had stayed for the summer) so you'll have time to explore Savogno, Uschione, and Dalo. All can be reached on foot from Chiavenna. Finally, communication and booking with Paolo and Pamela was a delight and if I were to return to beautiful, relaxing Chiavenna, Elevezia La Specola would be on the top of my list. Stay here!
