Positive: It provided the opportunity to view a way of life I wouldn't have otherwise have had. Rohit's a great host, and took me out on excursions around the area. Highlights were the school and temple visits, and having a tree planted in my honour when I left.

Negative: Power cuts - bit this was my own fault, for travelling in Monsoon season.

Positive: A wonderful homestay experience. We enjoyed some wonderful experiences - sunset drives, a tour around the village, playing cricket with the local kids and even a visit to the school for an awards ceremony when we were treated like VIP's. We ate great food on the roof top under the stars and Rohit was a fabulous host. A very enjoyable and memorable part of our trip to India.

Positive: I had read all the positive review and it ended it up to be even better then expected !! In great part due to the enthusiasm and sunny disposition of everyone. Probably the most friendly experience of our trip , loved the mornings visit of the village and the school assembly .

Negative: It has lots of charm, great views . Romantic diner on the rooftop under the stars with Indian wine 🍷. A sincere pleasure to share what makes Deogarh village special !

Positive: After the hustle and bustle of Indian cities it was wonderful to stay with Rohit and his family in the quiet and peaceful village of the Deogarh Hills! This is a very comfortable guesthouse where you really feel at home. The surrounding countryside is wonderful to explore and Rohit took us on a number of adventures in their Jeep to see the sunset. The nearby heritage train ride is a must. We had delicious vegetarian meals prepared at the guesthouse, some of which were completely unique and new to us and super tasty. Rohit and Mayur are great dinner conversationalists.

Positive: We stayed in Deogarh Village Experience. We were welcomed by Rohitashva and his brother Mayur with broad smile. They are the most wonderful people. Room was clean and specious. Food was cooked traditionally on wood fire stove. One of the best food we ate after a long time. Needless to say, every staff member took care of our needs. Rohitashva also took us for the evening tea at sunset on a mountain top. Wonderfull location. Unforgettable village experience. Highly recommended

Positive: It’s a delightful characterful heritage house with a generous bedroom, extremely comfortable bed, magnificent views, wonderful roof terrace and a charming and thoroughly helpful hosts. We really enjoyed everything they laid on from visiting the local village and gaining an idea of their lives and way of life. Everyone was so welcoming and generous with their time and chai you didn’t feel you were intruding. The food was delicious, the conversation with Rohit and his brother Mayul interesting and informative, the effort was tremendous from a candle lit roof dinner to sitting round the cooking fire while supper was prepared. As you can now tell we can’t recommend highly enough.

Positive: After the hustle and bustle of Jodphur it was a delight to be immersed in the peace of the village, waking up to bird song and cow bells. Our host Rohitashva had arranged a perfect itinerary for us of jeep trips and village walks, his knowledge and enthusiasm to share his Mewar culture with us I really enjoyed and appreciated. He even arranged a special jeep trip to look for a leopard and after quietly observing as the sun set we were rewarded with a scene we will never forget. A wild leopard emerging from its daytime cover, preparing for night activities. The staff at the house were lovely and kind and the food gave us the taste of local flavours. Our forward transport to Udaipur was arranged by Rohitashva and was comfortable and smooth. We will hopefully be back and thank everyone at the house for their care and warmth.

Negative: A little attention to the bathroom facilities would be an improvement.

Positive: Very rural setting. Peaceful and quiet. Heritage style house. Wonderful views. Sunset dinner on the roof was very special. Very cheerful and helpful owner and staff. Excellent food, freshly prepared and generous portions. Comfortable bed.

Positive: Great homestay in a quiet village. Warm welcome by Rohitashva. Good food also. During your stay, you will meet the village families and discover how they live . You can also book activities such as jeep tour for sunset We also strongly recommend the train experience between Phulad station and Khamli Ghat crossing the Aravalli mountains. Such a good trip with local people.

Positive: Our Deogarh Village experience exceeded all our expectations. From the warm traditional welcome we received on arrival to arranging our taxi to leave Rohitashva and his family were simply wonderful. They truly provided a home away from home and made us feel like part or the family from the moment we met them - so gentle and kind. Having visited India many times we can say this was one of the best ever experiences. We felt like we got to be part of village life and understand local Mewar culture and traditions. Rohitshva planned an itinerary of activities for the 2 days we spent with them that gave us experiences that neither of us had previously experienced. We were shown around the surrounding local village and greeted with warm smiles by everyone we met. On our first evening we attended a puja (ceremony) at the local temple which was fascinating and very moving. During our time we also visited the local school as well as a significant memorial to Panna Dai (the extraordinary 16th century nursemaid to Udai Singh II) and a local cow shelter taking care of abandoned cows. In addition Rohitshva took us on 2 jeep safaris into the surrounding countryside and lakes at sunrise and sunset. Simply stunning. And Rohitashva is so knowledgeable about both the local Mewar culture and history and Hindu religion that we felt that we had really learned an enormous amount despite our relatively short stay. Their large house is beautiful and built in the traditional Rajasthani style and our room was one of the nicest we have stayed in while in India. The meals they prepared for us were also some of the best we have eaten and eating dinner under the stars was magical. Our stay was THE most memorable part of our trip to India and our only regret was not being able to stay longer.
